1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe and effective use of your Careenoah Kids Instant Print Camera, Model ABS-681. Please read this manual thoroughly before operating the camera and retain it for future reference. This camera is designed to capture photos and videos, and instantly print black-and-white images using thermal printing technology.

3. Product Overview

Familiarize yourself with the camera's components and controls:

  • Flashlight: Provides illumination for photos in low light.
  • Selfie Mirror: Located next to the lens for easy self-portraits.
  • HD Lens: Main camera lens for capturing images and videos.
  • Silicone Case: Protective cover for durability and grip.
  • Strap Holder: Attachment point for the neck strap.
  • Speaker: For audio playback.
  • Power/Mode Button: Turns the camera on/off and switches between modes.
  • Confirm Button (OK): Confirms selections and takes photos/starts recording.
  • Working Indicator: Light indicating camera status (e.g., charging, recording).
  • Record Button: Dedicated button to start/stop video recording.
  • Previous/Zoom In Button: Navigates menus or zooms in during photo/video capture.

4. Setup

4.1 Charging the Camera

  1. Locate the Type-C charging port on the camera.
  2. Connect the provided Type-C cable to the camera and the other end to a standard USB power adapter (not included) or a computer USB port.
  3. The working indicator light will illuminate during charging and turn off when fully charged.
  4. A full charge typically takes approximately 2.5 hours and provides up to 2.5 hours of continuous video recording.

4.2 Inserting/Removing the SD Card

The camera comes with a 32GB SD card pre-inserted. If you need to remove or re-insert it:

  1. Ensure the camera is powered off.
  2. Locate the SD card slot, usually on the side or bottom of the camera.
  3. To remove, gently push the SD card until it clicks and ejects slightly, then pull it out.
  4. To insert, align the SD card with the slot (metal contacts facing down or towards the screen, depending on the model) and push it in until it clicks into place.

4.3 Loading Print Paper

The camera uses thermal print paper. Ensure the paper is loaded correctly for instant printing.

  1. Gently push up the lens part of the camera along the indicated arrows to open the paper compartment.
  2. Insert a new roll of thermal print paper into the compartment. Ensure the paper feeds out from the top and is aligned correctly.
  3. Pull a small length of paper out of the slot.
  4. Close the camera compartment securely until it clicks.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

  • To Power On: Press and hold the Power/Mode button for a few seconds. The screen will light up.
  • To Power Off: Press and hold the Power/Mode button again until the screen turns off.

5.2 Taking Photos

  1. Ensure the camera is in photo mode (indicated on the 2.4-inch IPS screen). If not, press the Power/Mode button to cycle through modes until photo mode is selected.
  2. Frame your shot using the screen.
  3. Press the Confirm (OK) button to take a picture.
  4. The camera will automatically print the photo if instant print is enabled.

5.3 Recording Videos

  1. Press the Power/Mode button to switch to video recording mode.
  2. Press the dedicated Record button to start recording. A red indicator or timer will appear on the screen.
  3. Press the Record button again to stop recording.

5.4 Instant Printing

After taking a photo, the camera can instantly print a black-and-white version. Ensure paper is loaded correctly.

  • Automatic Print: By default, photos may print immediately after capture.
  • Manual Print: In playback mode, select a photo and look for a print option in the menu.

5.5 Navigation and Menu Options

Use the Previous/Zoom In and Next/Zoom Out buttons to navigate through menus and options on the 2.4-inch IPS screen. Press the Confirm (OK) button to select an option.

5.6 Special Features

  • Digital Zoom: Use the Previous/Zoom In and Next/Zoom Out buttons during photo/video capture to adjust the 16X digital zoom.
  • Flash: Access flash settings in the camera menu to choose between Auto, On/Fill, Off, or Slow Sync modes.
  • Time-lapse: Set a time interval for the camera to automatically take photos.
  • Burst Shooting: Capture multiple photos in quick succession.
  • Filters, Frames, and Effects: Enhance your photos with 5 filters, 13 frames, and 13 special cartoon effects. These can be applied before or after taking a photo via the menu.
  • Games: The camera includes 4 pre-installed games for entertainment. Access them through the main menu.
  • MP3 Playback: The camera supports MP3 playback. Load MP3 files onto the SD card and access them via the menu.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning the Camera

  • Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the camera body and screen.
  • For the lens, use a specialized lens cleaning cloth to avoid scratches.
  • Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the camera.

6.2 Replacing Print Paper

When the print paper runs out, follow the steps in Section 4.3 to replace it with a new thermal paper roll. Each roll can print approximately 124 photos.

6.3 Battery Care

  • Charge the camera regularly, even if not in use, to maintain battery health.
  • Avoid exposing the camera to extreme temperatures.
  • If the camera will not be used for an extended period, charge it to about 50% before storing.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your camera, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:
