Compatibility

Important: This Newentor R3-WH-DE Outdoor Sensor is compatible ONLY with Newentor Weather Station models Q7-DE, Q8-U, and Q8-DE.

Ensure your main weather station unit is one of these models for proper functionality and data transmission.

Package Contents

Upon unpacking, please verify that all items listed below are present and in good condition:

  • 1 x Newentor R3-WH-DE Outdoor Sensor Unit
  • 1 x Mounting Bracket
  • 1 x User Manual (this document)

Batteries (2 x AA) are required but not included in the package.

Setup

  1. Install Batteries: Open the battery compartment on the back of the sensor. Insert 2 new AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Close the battery compartment securely.
  2. Power On: The sensor will automatically power on and begin transmitting data once batteries are installed. The display will show current temperature and humidity readings.
  3. Pair with Weather Station:
    • Place the outdoor sensor within range of your compatible Newentor Q7-DE, Q8-U, or Q8-DE weather station.
    • Refer to your main weather station's manual for specific instructions on how to initiate sensor pairing or search for new outdoor sensors.
    • Once paired, the weather station will display the temperature and humidity readings from the R3-WH-DE sensor.
  4. Mounting: Use the included mounting bracket to securely attach the sensor to an outdoor surface. Choose a location that is sheltered from direct sunlight and heavy precipitation for accurate readings, and within the wireless range of your main weather station.

Operation

The Newentor R3-WH-DE sensor operates continuously once powered, transmitting temperature and humidity data wirelessly to your compatible Newentor weather station. There are no user-adjustable settings directly on the sensor unit itself.

  • Temperature Display: The sensor's display shows the current outdoor temperature in Celsius (°C).
  • Humidity Display: The sensor's display shows the current outdoor relative humidity in percentage (%).
  • Battery Indicator: A low battery icon will appear on the sensor's display when the batteries need to be replaced.

Maintenance

  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries promptly when the low battery indicator appears. Use 2 new AA batteries.
  • Cleaning: Wipe the sensor's exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure no moisture enters the internal components.
  • Placement: Periodically check the sensor's mounting to ensure it remains secure and in an optimal location for accurate readings (e.g., away from direct heat sources or excessive moisture).
  • Weather Resistance: While the sensor is weather-resistant, prolonged exposure to extreme conditions (e.g., heavy downpours, direct hail, extreme temperatures outside operating range) may affect its performance or lifespan. Consider additional shelter if necessary.
