Setup and Installation

Installation of the Chamberlain B2212T garage door opener requires basic tools and adherence to safety guidelines. It is recommended to have a second person assist during certain steps. Ensure your garage door is in good working condition and properly balanced before proceeding.

  1. Assemble the Rail: Connect the rail sections according to the instructions provided in the separate assembly guide.
  2. Mount the Opener: Securely attach the opener head unit to the ceiling or appropriate support structure above the garage door.
  3. Install the Belt Drive: Route and tension the steel-reinforced belt along the rail.

  4. Connect Safety Sensors: Mount and align the safety sensors on either side of the garage door opening, approximately 6 inches above the floor. Ensure the beam is unobstructed.
  5. Install Wall Control: Mount the push-button wall control in a visible location, at least 5 feet above the floor, away from moving parts of the door.
  6. Connect Power: Plug the opener into a grounded electrical outlet.
  7. Program Travel Limits: Follow the on-screen or indicator light instructions to set the open and close limits for your garage door.
  8. Test Safety Reversal System: Place a 1.5-inch object (e.g., a 2x4 board laid flat) on the floor in the path of the door. The door should reverse upon contact.

Battery Backup Installation:

The included battery backup ensures operation during power outages. Install the 12V battery into the designated compartment on the opener head unit. Refer to the diagram on the unit for correct polarity.

Operating Instructions

Using the Remote Control:

Press the large button on your 3-button remote control to open or close the garage door. The remote uses Security+ 2.0 technology for enhanced security.

Using the Wall Control:

Press the main button on the wall-mounted control to operate the garage door. This control also typically includes a light button and a lock feature.

myQ Smartphone Control:

The Chamberlain B2212T features integrated myQ technology, allowing you to control, secure, and monitor your garage door from anywhere using the myQ app on your smartphone.

  1. Download the myQ App: Search for "myQ" in your smartphone's app store and download the application.
  2. Create an Account: Follow the in-app instructions to create a new myQ account or log in if you already have one.
  3. Connect to Opener: The opener has improved Wi-Fi connectivity. Follow the app's prompts to connect your garage door opener to your home Wi-Fi network and link it to your myQ account.
