3. Setup

3.1 Battery Installation

The FCXJTU Digital Waterproof Stopwatch comes with a pre-installed CR2032 battery. The device is designed to be always on, similar to traditional digital watches, and does not feature a power-off button. The battery is expected to provide long-lasting operation.

3.2 Lanyard Attachment

Attach the included 47-inch lanyard to the designated loop on the stopwatch for convenient carrying around the neck or wrist during activities.

4. Operating Instructions

The stopwatch features three primary buttons:

• START/STOP (Right Button): Initiates and pauses the timer.
• SPLIT/RESET (Left Button): Records split times and resets the timer.
• RECALL (Top Center Button): Accesses stored lap and split times.

4.1 Basic Timing (Start, Stop, Reset)

1. To START timing, press the START/STOP button.
2. To PAUSE timing, press the START/STOP button again. The display will hold the current time.
3. To RESUME timing from the paused state, press the START/STOP button.
4. To STOP timing and clear the display, ensure the timer is paused, then press the SPLIT/RESET button. The display will return to zero.

4.2 Split/Lap Timing

This function allows you to record intermediate times (splits) while the main timer continues to run.

1. To START timing, press the START/STOP button.
2. To record a SPLIT or LAP time, press the SPLIT/RESET button while the timer is running. The display will momentarily show the split time, while the main timer continues in the background.
3. Repeat step 2 for each subsequent split/lap. The stopwatch can store up to 20 measurements.
4. To STOP the main timer, press the START/STOP button.
5. To RESET the timer and clear all recorded splits, ensure the timer is stopped (paused), then press the SPLIT/RESET button.

4.3 Recalling Memory

After stopping the timer and recording splits, you can review the stored data.

1. Ensure the timer is stopped (paused) and not reset.
2. Press the RECALL button. The display will cycle through the fastest lap time, slowest lap time, and average lap time.
3. While in recall mode, press the START/STOP button to cycle through individual lap/split times.
4. To exit recall mode, press the RECALL button again.

4.4 Clearing All Memory

To completely clear all recorded times and reset the stopwatch to zero:

1. Ensure the stopwatch is in the stopped (paused) state.
2. Press the START/STOP button four times consecutively.
3. Then, press the SPLIT/RESET button once. The display should show all zeros.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

Wipe the stopwatch with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the display or casing.

5.2 Water Resistance

The stopwatch is IPX7 rated and 50 meters waterproof. This means it can withstand splashes, rain, and brief immersion in water, making it suitable for swimming. However, it is not designed for diving or prolonged submersion at significant depths. Ensure the buttons are not pressed while submerged to maintain water integrity.

5.3 Battery Replacement

When the display becomes dim or unresponsive, the CR2032 battery may need replacement. To replace the battery:

1. Carefully remove the eight small screws located on the back casing of the stopwatch.
2. Gently lift the back cover. You will find a waterproof rubber cover protecting the internal electronics and battery.
3. Remove the old CR2032 battery and insert a new one, ensuring correct polarity.
4. Carefully re-seat the waterproof rubber cover, ensuring it forms a proper seal.
5. Replace the back cover and secure it with the eight screws. Ensure all screws are tightened evenly to maintain the waterproof seal.

6. Troubleshooting

• Stopwatch not turning on or display is dim: The battery may be low or depleted. Refer to Section 5.3 for battery replacement instructions.
• Buttons are unresponsive: Ensure the stopwatch is not submerged in water when pressing buttons. If the issue persists, the battery may be low.
