2. Safety Information

Control Unit Components:

  • LCD Monitor: Displays battery power, light output power, and current mode.
  • PILOT Button: Activates a test flash or modeling light.
  • MODE Button: Cycles through different lighting modes.
  • LIGHT Button: Toggles between left, right, or both LED panels.
  • ON/OFF Button: Powers the unit on or off.

5. Setup

5.1 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the control unit.

  3. Insert four (4) AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

5.2 Mounting to Camera

  1. Ensure your camera is turned off.
  2. Slide the hot shoe mount of the Macro 24 LED Ring Light Flash into your camera's hot shoe slot.
  3. Secure the unit by tightening the locking wheel or lever on the hot shoe mount (if present) until it is firmly attached. Do not overtighten.
  4. Once mounted, you can adjust the flexible arms to position the LED lights as desired for your subject.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Power On/Off

  • To power on the unit, press and hold the ON/OFF button until the LCD screen illuminates.
  • To power off the unit, press and hold the ON/OFF button again until the LCD screen turns off.

6.2 Adjusting Brightness

  • Once powered on, use the Up and Down directional buttons to adjust the brightness level. The brightness can be adjusted from -3.0EV to +3.0EV.
  • The current brightness level will be displayed on the LCD monitor.

6.3 Light Modes

The unit offers four separate light modes. Press the MODE button to cycle through them:

  1. Full Light Mode: Both LED panels illuminate.
  2. Left Light Mode: Only the left LED panel illuminates.
  3. Right Light Mode: Only the right LED panel illuminates.
  4. Flash Mode: The unit acts as a flash, synchronizing with your camera's shutter.

Use the LIGHT button to toggle between illuminating the left panel, right panel, or both panels when not in Flash Mode.

6.4 Using the PILOT Button

Press the PILOT button to activate a test flash or a continuous modeling light, depending on the selected mode. This helps in previewing the lighting effect before taking a picture.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the unit. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: Store the unit in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Battery Care: Remove batteries if the unit will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
