2. Setup Instructions
Proper installation is crucial for the safe and efficient operation of your pool heater. Follow these steps carefully.
2.1 Unpacking and Placement
Remove all components from the packaging. Place the heater on a stable, level surface near your pool and filter system. Ensure it is positioned to allow for proper hose connections and electrical access.
2.2 Connecting Hoses
The pool heater must be connected in-line with your pool's filtration system. Water flows from the pool, through the filter pump, then through the heater, and back into the pool.
- Connect one hose from the filter pump's outlet to the inlet of the pool heater.
- Connect a second hose from the outlet of the pool heater to the return inlet of your pool.
- Ensure all connections are secure to prevent leaks. Use hose clamps if necessary.

2.3 Electrical Connection
Connect the heater's power cord to a suitable electrical outlet. Ensure the outlet is protected by a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) for safety. The heater operates at 220-240 V.
3. Operating Instructions
Once installed, operating your Bestway Pool Heater is straightforward using the intuitive soft-touch control panel.
3.1 Starting the Heater
- Ensure your filter pump is running to circulate water through the heater. The heater will not operate without water flow.
- Press the power button on the soft-touch control panel to turn on the heater. The display will show the current water temperature.

3.3 Heating Performance
The 2800 W heater provides a heating output at 220-240 V. Depending on the water volume (suitable for 1,520 to 17,035 litres) and outside temperature, you can expect a temperature increase of 0.5 to 1.5 °C per hour. For optimal performance, ensure your filter system operates up to a flow rate of 3,785 l/h.
4. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and efficiency of your Bestway Pool Heater.
- Clean Hoses and Connections: Periodically check hoses and connections for debris or blockages. Ensure they are free from kinks and damage.
- Inspect Electrical Cord: Regularly inspect the power cord and the personal protection switch for any signs of wear or damage. Do not use the heater if the cord is damaged.
- Winterization: Before winter or prolonged periods of non-use, disconnect the heater, drain all water from it, and store it in a dry, protected area away from freezing temperatures.
- General Cleaning: Wipe down the exterior of the heater with a damp cloth as needed. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
5. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your pool heater, refer to the following common problems and solutions.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Heater not turning on. | No power, GFCI tripped, insufficient water flow. | Check power connection. Reset GFCI. Ensure filter pump is running and hoses are clear. |
| Water not heating sufficiently. | Pool volume too large, low ambient temperature, filter pump flow rate too low, heat loss. | Verify pool volume is within recommended range (1,520-17,035 litres). Ensure filter pump flow rate is adequate (up to 3,785 l/h). Use a pool cover to reduce heat loss. Allow more time for heating. |
| Leaks at connections. | Loose hose connections, damaged O-rings. | Tighten hose clamps. Inspect and replace O-rings if damaged. |
If problems persist, contact Bestway customer support.
