3.2 Product Components

This image shows the main unit of the Tianye battery charger, featuring a red and black casing with an integrated LCD display. The attached red and black battery clamps are visible, ready for connection to a vehicle battery.

This image illustrates the intelligent digital display of the charger, detailing readouts for temperature, current, voltage, and power. The display provides real-time feedback on the charging process.
The package includes:
- 1 x Tianye Car Battery Charger
- 1 x User Manual (this document)
4. Setup
Before connecting the charger, ensure your vehicle is turned off and the ignition key is removed. For in-vehicle charging, ensure proper ventilation.
- Connect Battery Clamps:
- Connect the RED lead from the charger to the positive (+) battery terminal.
- Connect the BLACK lead from the charger to the negative (-) battery terminal.
- Ensure a secure connection to prevent sparks.
- Connect to AC Power:
- Connect the battery charger's power cord to a standard 110-220V AC mains powered socket.
- The charger will automatically start when AC power is connected and switched on.

This diagram visually explains the two-step process for connecting the charger: first, attach the red clamp to the positive terminal and the black clamp to the negative terminal of the battery; second, plug the charger into a 220V power source to begin charging. It also reminds to disconnect AC power first before removing clamps.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Automatic Charging Process
Once connected to the battery and AC power, the charger will automatically detect the battery type and condition, then initiate the appropriate 4-stage charging process:
- Desulfation: If necessary, the charger will apply high-frequency pulse charges to break down lead sulfate crystals.
- Soft Start: A gentle charge is applied to severely discharged batteries to gradually increase voltage.
- Bulk Charge: The main charging stage where the charger delivers maximum current until the battery reaches approximately 80% capacity.
- Absorption Charge: The voltage is held constant while the current decreases, bringing the battery to 100% charge.
- Float Charge: Once fully charged, the charger maintains the battery at a safe voltage, preventing overcharging and keeping it ready for use.
5.2 Mode Selection
The charger offers different modes for various battery types and charging needs. Press the "MODE" button to cycle through the available options.

This image highlights the "MODE" button on the charger, indicating its use for quick start and mode selection. A hand is shown pressing the button.
- Car/Truck Mode: For large 12V batteries, providing a fast charge up to 6A.
- Motorcycle Mode: For smaller 12V batteries, providing a slower charge up to 2A.
- AGM/GEL Mode: Specifically optimized for AGM and GEL type batteries.
- Repair Mode: For reconditioning old, idle, damaged, stratified, or sulfated batteries. This mode uses high and low frequency pulse technology.

This graphic illustrates the various charging modes available: Auto (for general car/truck batteries), AGM/GEL, Motorcycle, and Repair Mode. It emphasizes the "One Key Switch" for easy mode selection.
5.3 Pulse Repair Function
The Pulse Repair function is designed to help restore severely discharged or sulfated batteries. This mode uses advanced pulse technology to break down sulfate crystals that can build up on battery plates, improving battery performance and extending its lifespan. Note that this function cannot activate a completely dead battery or repair a battery that is seriously damaged beyond recovery.

This image shows the charger's display indicating "Recovery" mode, highlighting its ability to solve battery power deficit, charging issues, and large internal resistance problems using high and low frequency pulse technology.
5.4 Temperature Adaptation (Summer/Winter Mode)
The charger automatically detects the ambient temperature and adjusts the charging voltage accordingly to prevent over- or under-charging. This ensures optimal charging performance in various climates.
- Summer Mode: Automatically enters when the temperature is above 26°C.
- Winter Mode: Automatically enters when the temperature is below 10°C.

This visual explains how the charger automatically adapts to environmental temperatures, switching to "Summer Mode" when above 26°C and "Winter Mode" when below 10°C, optimizing the charging process.
6. Maintenance
- Always disconnect the charger from AC power and the battery before cleaning or maintenance.
- Clean the charger casing with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Inspect the power cord and battery clamps regularly for any signs of damage. If damaged, do not use the charger and contact customer support.
- Store the charger in a cool, dry place when not in use, away from direct sunlight and moisture.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Charger not turning on. | No AC power; faulty outlet; damaged power cord. | Check AC power connection and outlet. Inspect power cord for damage. |
| Charger not charging battery. | Incorrect battery connection (reverse polarity); battery is completely dead (below 2V); battery is severely damaged. | Ensure correct polarity (+ to +, - to -). The charger requires a minimum of 2V to initiate charging. If battery is below 2V or severely damaged, it may not be recoverable. |
| Display shows error code or abnormal readings. | Internal fault; short circuit; over-temperature. | Disconnect charger from AC and battery, wait a few minutes, then reconnect. If error persists, contact customer support. |
| Charger gets hot during operation. | Normal operation (some heat is expected); poor ventilation; excessive load. | Ensure adequate ventilation around the charger. If it becomes excessively hot, disconnect and allow to cool. Reduce load if possible. |
