Setup Instructions
Connecting to Windows Laptops
For Windows systems, the Upperizon portable monitor offers a plug-and-play experience. The necessary driver will automatically install upon the first connection.
- Single USB-C Cable Connection (Recommended): If your laptop's USB-C port supports DisplayPort Alternate Mode (DP Alt Mode) or Thunderbolt 3/4/5, you can achieve a three-screen setup (laptop + two portable monitors) with a single USB-C to USB-C cable. Connect one end of the full-featured USB-C cable to your laptop's compatible USB-C port and the other end to the USB-C Display Port on the portable monitor. This single cable will provide both video signal and power.
- HDMI and USB-C Power Connection: If your laptop's USB-C port does not support DP Alt Mode, or if you prefer using HDMI:
- Connect one Mini-HDMI to HDMI cable from your laptop's HDMI port to the Bottom HDMI Port on the portable monitor for the bottom screen signal.
- Connect a USB-C to USB-A cable from your laptop's USB-A port to the USB-C Display Port on the portable monitor for the upper screen signal.
- Connect the 65W Power Adapter to the USB-C Power Port on the portable monitor to ensure stable power supply.
- Two HDMI Ports Connection: For devices with two HDMI outputs:
- Connect one Mini-HDMI to HDMI cable from your device's first HDMI port to the Upper HDMI Port on the portable monitor for the upper screen signal.
- Connect a second Mini-HDMI to HDMI cable from your device's second HDMI port to the Bottom HDMI Port on the portable monitor for the bottom screen signal.
- Connect the 65W Power Adapter to the USB-C Power Port on the portable monitor for power.

- Accept the software license agreement and proceed with the installation.
- During installation, you may be prompted to enter your password to allow the software installation.
- After installation, navigate to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Screen Recording.
- Enable the toggle for "DisplayLink Manager" to allow it to record the content of your screen. This permission is necessary for the monitor to function correctly and does not pose a security risk.
- If prompted, click "Quit & Reopen" to restart DisplayLink Manager.
- Once the driver is installed and permissions are granted, connect the monitor using the appropriate cables as described for Windows (USB-C or HDMI/USB-C power).

Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Upperizon portable monitor, please refer to the following common solutions:
- No Signal / Black Screen:
- Ensure all cables (USB-C, HDMI, power) are securely connected to both the monitor and your device.
- Verify that your laptop's USB-C port supports DisplayPort Alt Mode if using a single USB-C cable for video and power.
- For macOS, confirm the DisplayLink driver is installed and "Screen Recording" permission is enabled.
- Try connecting the monitor to a different port on your laptop or a different device to rule out port issues.
- Ensure the monitor is receiving adequate power. Use the provided 65W power adapter if the laptop's USB-C port cannot supply enough power.
- Screen Flickering or Unstable Display:
- Check cable connections for looseness or damage. Try a different cable.
- Ensure the monitor is adequately powered. Connect the 65W power adapter.
- Adjust the refresh rate or resolution settings on your computer.
- Only One Screen Working (macOS):
- This is a known limitation for some macOS configurations when using a single USB-C cable. Ensure the DisplayLink driver is correctly installed and enabled for screen recording.
- As an alternative, try connecting the top screen via Mini-HDMI and the bottom screen via USB-C, along with the power adapter.
- No Audio:
- Note that only the bottom screen has built-in speakers.
- Check your computer's audio output settings to ensure the monitor is selected as the output device.
- Adjust the volume using the OSD menu or your computer's volume controls.
- DisplayLink Manager "Recording" Warning (macOS):
- The "Screen Recording" permission is a standard requirement for DisplayLink technology to function. It allows the driver to capture and extend your display. It does not record your personal data or pose a security risk.
If the issue persists after trying these steps, please contact Upperizon customer support for further assistance.
