4. Installation Guide
Before installation, determine whether you will use an Inside Mount or Outside Mount. Accurate measurements are crucial for proper fit and function.
4.1. Measuring for Installation
Inside Mount
- Width: Measure the inside frame width at three points (top, middle, bottom: W1, W2, W3). Use the minimum of these measurements.
- Height: Measure the inside frame height at three points (left, center, right: H1, H2, H3). Use the minimum of these measurements.
- Important: A deduction of 1/4 inch from the measured width is required for proper fit. Minimum window depth of 2 inches is needed. Round down to the nearest 1/8 inch.

Outside Mount
- Width: Measure the width of the ideal area to be covered (W).
- Height: Measure the height of the ideal area to be covered (H).
- Important: We recommend adding at least 2 inches on each side (total 4 inches) to the width for maximum light blockage. Ensure a minimum clearance of 2 inches of flat surface above the window frame. Round to the nearest 1/8 inch. No need to measure window depth.

4.2. General Installation Steps
- Mark Bracket Positions: Based on your chosen mount type (Inside or Outside), mark the precise locations for your mounting brackets. Ensure they are level.
- Install Brackets: Drill pilot holes if necessary and secure the mounting brackets using the provided screws and drywall anchors (if installing into drywall).
- Attach Blinds: Carefully attach the motorized blind unit to the installed brackets. Ensure it clicks securely into place.
- Install Valance Cover: Attach the valance cover to the front of the blind unit for a finished look.
- Connect Solar Panel: Firmly insert the solar panel's connector into the socket on the blind unit. Position the solar panel where it receives maximum sunlight.

5. Operation
5.1. Remote Control Operation
The included remote control allows for easy adjustment of your blinds. Refer to the remote's specific buttons for raising, lowering, and stopping the blinds. The remote can control up to 15 electric blinds at a time.

5.2. Adjusting Blind Height
The height of the blinds can be adjusted anywhere from 0 inches to 72 inches. Use the remote control to set your desired open and closed positions. The fabric width will always be at least 1 inch narrower than the ordered product width.

5.3. Smart Features (Optional Hub Required)
To unlock smart features, an optional hub is required. Once connected, you can:
- Voice Control: Use voice commands with compatible smart assistants like Alexa and Google Assistant to open or close your blinds.
- App Control & Scheduling: Control your blinds via a mobile application, allowing you to set schedules for automatic opening and closing at fixed times.

6. Charging and Power
Your DENFOON Motorized Blinds are equipped with a rechargeable battery and come with a complimentary solar panel for convenient and eco-friendly charging.
6.1. Solar Panel Charging
The solar panel is designed to continuously charge the blinds' internal battery using sunlight. This extends the motor's lifespan and reduces the need for frequent manual recharging. Ensure the solar panel is positioned to receive adequate sunlight.

6.2. Alternative Charging Methods
In situations where solar charging is insufficient (e.g., prolonged cloudy weather, low light conditions), you can also charge the blinds using:
- Wall Socket: Connect the charging cable to a standard wall outlet.
- Power Bank: Use a portable power bank for convenient charging.

7. Maintenance
7.1. Cleaning
To clean your DENFOON Motorized Blinds, simply spot clean any soiled areas. Do not immerse the blinds in water or use harsh chemicals.
7.2. Wrinkle Removal
Wrinkles may occur during transportation. To remove them:
- Natural Relaxation: Simply unfold your blinds and let them sit in a well-ventilated area indoors for a few days (usually within 3 days). The wrinkles will naturally disappear.
- Garment Steamer: For quicker results, use a garment steamer to gently remove wrinkles in just a few minutes.

8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your DENFOON Motorized Blinds, please refer to the following common solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Blinds not responding to remote. | Low battery in remote or blind unit; remote not paired; obstruction. | Replace remote batteries. Charge blind unit via solar panel, socket, or power bank. Re-pair remote if necessary (refer to pairing instructions in separate guide). Check for obstructions. |
| Blinds not moving smoothly or stopping unexpectedly. | Obstruction in the track; motor issue; limits not set correctly. | Inspect tracks for debris or obstructions. Ensure the blind fabric is not snagged. Reset upper and lower limits if they have been disturbed (refer to limit setting instructions). |
| Solar panel not charging effectively. | Insufficient sunlight; panel dirty or obstructed; faulty connection. | Ensure solar panel is positioned to receive direct sunlight. Clean the solar panel surface. Check that the solar panel connector is firmly inserted into the blind unit. Use alternative charging methods if sunlight is consistently low. |
| Smart features (voice/app) not working. | Hub not connected or configured; network issues; blinds not paired with hub. | Ensure the optional smart hub is properly connected to power and your home network. Verify that the blinds are correctly paired with the hub and configured in the mobile application. Check your Wi-Fi connection. |
