4. Installation Guide

Before installation, determine whether you will use an Inside Mount or Outside Mount. Accurate measurements are crucial for proper fit and function.

4.1. Measuring for Installation

Inside Mount

  • Width: Measure the inside frame width at three points (top, middle, bottom: W1, W2, W3). Use the minimum of these measurements.
  • Height: Measure the inside frame height at three points (left, center, right: H1, H2, H3). Use the minimum of these measurements.
  • Important: A deduction of 1/4 inch from the measured width is required for proper fit. Minimum window depth of 2 inches is needed. Round down to the nearest 1/8 inch.

Outside Mount

  • Width: Measure the width of the ideal area to be covered (W).
  • Height: Measure the height of the ideal area to be covered (H).
  • Important: We recommend adding at least 2 inches on each side (total 4 inches) to the width for maximum light blockage. Ensure a minimum clearance of 2 inches of flat surface above the window frame. Round to the nearest 1/8 inch. No need to measure window depth.

4.2. General Installation Steps

  2. Install Brackets: Drill pilot holes if necessary and secure the mounting brackets using the provided screws and drywall anchors (if installing into drywall).
  3. Attach Blinds: Carefully attach the motorized blind unit to the installed brackets. Ensure it clicks securely into place.
  4. Install Valance Cover: Attach the valance cover to the front of the blind unit for a finished look.
  5. Connect Solar Panel: Firmly insert the solar panel's connector into the socket on the blind unit. Position the solar panel where it receives maximum sunlight.

6. Charging and Power

Your DENFOON Motorized Blinds are equipped with a rechargeable battery and come with a complimentary solar panel for convenient and eco-friendly charging.

6.1. Solar Panel Charging

The solar panel is designed to continuously charge the blinds' internal battery using sunlight. This extends the motor's lifespan and reduces the need for frequent manual recharging. Ensure the solar panel is positioned to receive adequate sunlight.

6.2. Alternative Charging Methods

In situations where solar charging is insufficient (e.g., prolonged cloudy weather, low light conditions), you can also charge the blinds using:

  • Wall Socket: Connect the charging cable to a standard wall outlet.
  • Power Bank: Use a portable power bank for convenient charging.
