1. Important Safeguards

Please read all instructions carefully before using your Kiss the Water Electric Roaster Oven. Keep this manual for future reference.

  • Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
  • To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plugs, or the main unit in water or other liquid.
  • Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
  • Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts.
  • Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.
  • The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause injuries.
  • Do not use outdoors.
  • Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
  • Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
  • Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other hot liquids.
  • Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to "off", then remove plug from wall outlet.
  • Do not use appliance for other than intended household use.

3. Setup and First Use

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all packaging materials and promotional labels from the roaster oven.
  2. Initial Cleaning: Wash the removable roasting pan, roasting rack, and lid in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely. Wipe the exterior of the main unit with a damp cloth.
  3. Assembly: Place the clean roasting pan inside the main unit. Insert the roasting rack into the roasting pan.
  4. Pre-use Burn-off: Before cooking food, operate the roaster oven empty for 30 minutes at 450°F (232°C) to burn off any manufacturing oils. Ensure adequate ventilation during this process. A slight odor or smoke is normal during first use.
  5. Placement: Place the roaster oven on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from walls and other appliances to allow for proper ventilation.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 General Cooking

  1. Prepare Food: Place your food (e.g., turkey, beef, ham, potatoes) on the roasting rack within the removable roasting pan.
  2. Secure Lid: Place the self-basting lid securely on the roaster oven.
  3. Set Temperature: Plug the power cord into a standard electrical outlet. Turn the temperature control knob to your desired cooking temperature, ranging from 150°F to 450°F. The indicator light will illuminate.
  4. Preheating: Allow the roaster oven to preheat for approximately 15-20 minutes. The indicator light will turn off once the set temperature is reached.
  5. Cooking: Cook food according to your recipe. The self-basting lid will help circulate moisture for tender results.
  6. Monitoring: Use oven mitts when lifting the lid to check food or remove it. Be cautious of escaping steam.
  7. Finish: Once cooking is complete, turn the temperature control knob to "Off" and unplug the unit.

4.2 Defrost Function

The defrost function allows for quick thawing of frozen items, such as a turkey.

  1. Place the frozen item on the roasting rack within the roasting pan.
  2. Cover with the self-basting lid.
  3. Turn the temperature control knob to the "Defrost" setting (approximately 275°F).
  4. Monitor the defrosting process. Defrosting times will vary based on the size and density of the item.

4.3 Keep Warm Function

The keep warm function maintains food at an ideal serving temperature without further cooking.

  1. After cooking, turn the temperature control knob to the "Keep Warm" setting (approximately 150°F).
  2. Keep the lid on to retain heat and moisture.
  3. Do not use the "Keep Warm" function for extended periods, as food quality may degrade.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your roaster oven.

  1. Unplug and Cool: Always unplug the roaster oven from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Removable Parts: The roasting pan, roasting rack, and lid are dishwasher safe or can be washed by hand in warm, soapy water. Use a non-abrasive sponge or cloth to prevent scratching. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.

6. Troubleshooting
