Thank you for choosing the AudioQuest PowerQuest 505. This high-performance power conditioner and non-sacrificial surge protector is designed to enhance the performance and protect your valuable audio and video equipment by providing clean, stable power and robust surge protection. The PowerQuest 505 features 12 AC outlets, including 4 high-current outlets for amplifiers and 8 ultra-linear filtered outlets for source components, ensuring optimal power delivery and noise dissipation.

Key Features

Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the PowerQuest 505 from its packaging. Inspect for any signs of damage.
  2. Placement: Position the PowerQuest 505 in a stable location, either on a flat surface or mounted in a standard 2RU rack using the included rack ears. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.
  3. Power Connection: Connect the provided PQ-715 detachable power cable to the IEC inlet on the rear of the PowerQuest 505. Plug the other end of the power cable into a grounded AC wall outlet.
  4. Component Connection:
    • For high-current devices such as power amplifiers, receivers, or powered subwoofers, use the High-Current Outlets (1-4).
    • For source components like CD players, DACs, preamplifiers, or media streamers, use the Ultra-Linear Filtered Outlets (5-12).
    Ensure all components are powered off before connecting them to the PowerQuest 505.
  5. Initial Power On: Once all connections are secure, flip the main power switch on the front panel of the PowerQuest 505 to the "ON" position. The "Protection On" indicator light should illuminate.

Operating Instructions

Troubleshooting

  • Check the "Overvoltage Protection" LED. If illuminated, wait for AC voltage to stabilize.
"Overvoltage Protection" LED is red.Incoming AC voltage is too high.The unit has automatically disconnected power to protect equipment. It will reset when voltage returns to normal. If this occurs frequently, consult an electrician.
"Protection On" LED is off when unit is on.Indicates a potential issue with the surge protection circuitry.Contact AudioQuest customer support. The non-sacrificial design means this is unlikely, but if it occurs, seek professional assistance.
