3. Setup Guide

Initial Setup (Primary Node)

1. Download the Tenda Wi-Fi App: Scan the QR code on the product packaging or visit the Tenda official website to download and install the Tenda Wi-Fi App on your smartphone.
2. Connect the Primary Node:
   • Select one of the Mesh21X units to be your primary node.
   • Connect the WAN/LAN port of this primary node to your cable modem or optical modem using the provided Ethernet cable.
   • Plug the power adapter into the primary Mesh21X unit and an electrical outlet.
   • Wait for the LED indicator on the primary unit to turn solid green, which signifies a successful internet connection.
3. Configure via App:
   • Open the Tenda Wi-Fi App on your smartphone.
   • Follow the on-screen instructions to set up your Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password. The app will guide you through the process of establishing your primary node and initial network settings.

Extending the Network (Secondary Nodes)

1. Power On Secondary Nodes: Place the remaining Mesh21X units (secondary nodes) within 3 meters (approximately 10 feet) of the primary node and plug them into a power outlet.
2. Automatic Pairing: The secondary nodes will automatically detect and connect to the primary node. This process may take a few minutes.
3. Placement: Once the LED indicators on the secondary nodes turn solid green, indicating a successful connection to the mesh network, you can relocate them to desired areas within your home to extend Wi-Fi coverage. Ensure optimal placement to maximize signal strength and coverage, avoiding major obstructions.
