3. Setup

3.1 Battery Installation

The remote control requires two (2) CR2 batteries for operation. Batteries are not included with the remote control and must be purchased separately.

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the remote control.
  2. Slide the battery compartment cover downwards or press the latch (if present) and lift to open.
  3. Insert two CR2 batteries, ensuring that the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals align correctly with the markings inside the compartment.
  4. Replace the battery compartment cover by sliding it back into place until it clicks securely.

4. Operating Instructions

To operate your Pioneer AV receiver using this remote control:

  1. Point the remote control directly at the infrared sensor on your Pioneer AV receiver. Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the receiver.
  2. Press the desired function button (e.g., Power, Volume Up/Down, Input Select, Mute, etc.).
  3. Confirm that your receiver responds to the command.

Important: The functionality of specific buttons may vary depending on your exact Pioneer receiver model. Some advanced or unique features of your original receiver remote may not be supported by this replacement unit.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

To clean the remote control, use a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners, abrasive pads, or chemical solvents, as these may damage the remote's surface or internal components.

5.2 Battery Replacement

Replace the batteries when the remote control's range decreases significantly or if it stops responding. Always replace both batteries at the same time with new CR2 batteries. Do not mix old and new batteries or different types of batteries.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Remote not working:
    • Check if the batteries are inserted correctly with the correct polarity.
    • Replace old batteries with new ones.
    • Ensure there is a clear line of sight between the remote control and the receiver's IR sensor.
    • Verify that the remote control is pointed directly at the receiver.
  • Limited functionality:
    • As a replacement remote, some specific functions of your original receiver remote may not be available. This is normal for universal or replacement remotes.
    • Refer to your Pioneer receiver's original manual for specific functions if you suspect a button should work but does not.
