Introduction
The Samsung Galaxy SmartTag2 is a versatile Bluetooth tracker designed to help you keep track of your valuable belongings. With its enhanced features, durable design, and long battery life, you can easily locate items such as keys, wallets, luggage, or even pets using your compatible Samsung Galaxy smartphone or tablet.

Setup
1. Device Compatibility
The Galaxy SmartTag2 requires a Samsung Galaxy smartphone or tablet running Android 11.0 or later with 3GB or more of free RAM. Ensure your device meets these requirements for optimal performance.
2. Installing the Battery
The SmartTag2 uses a replaceable CR2032 lithium battery. If the battery is not pre-installed, or needs replacement, follow these steps:
- Locate the battery compartment on the SmartTag2.
- Gently open the compartment cover.
- Insert the CR2032 battery with the positive (+) side facing up.
- Close the compartment cover securely.
Note: A new battery is expected to last up to 500 days under typical usage conditions, or up to 40% more in Non-Power Saving Mode.
3. Pairing with Your Device
To pair your SmartTag2 with your Samsung Galaxy device:
- Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your Samsung Galaxy smartphone or tablet.
- Open the SmartThings app. If you don't have it, download it from the Galaxy Store or Google Play Store.
- Log in to your Samsung Account within the SmartThings app.
- Bring the SmartTag2 close to your device. A pop-up will appear on your device prompting you to add the SmartTag2.
- Tap "Add" and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the pairing process.
- The SmartThings Find App will be used for tracking.

Operating Instructions
1. Tracking Your Items
Once paired, you can track your SmartTag2 using the SmartThings Find app:
- Open the SmartThings app and navigate to the "SmartThings Find" section.
- Your SmartTag2's last known location will be displayed on a map.
- If the SmartTag2 is out of Bluetooth range (up to 120m without obstacles), the Galaxy Find Network will be utilized to update its location based on other opt-in Galaxy users in range.
2. Using Search Nearby (Compass View)
When your SmartTag2 is within Bluetooth range but out of sight:
- In the SmartThings Find app, select your SmartTag2.
- Tap "Search Nearby" to activate Compass View. This feature provides guided instructions to the item's location.
- As you get closer, the signal strength indicator will increase.

3. Ringing Your SmartTag2
If you still cannot find your SmartTag2 using Compass View, you can make it emit an audible signal:
- In the SmartThings Find app, select your SmartTag2.
- Tap the "Ring" button. The SmartTag2 will play a sound to help you locate it.
- You can adjust the volume and ringtone within the SmartThings app settings for the SmartTag2.
4. Lost Mode (NFC Functionality)
If your SmartTag2 is lost and found by someone else, Lost Mode can help facilitate its return:
- Activate Lost Mode via the SmartThings app.
- You can register your contact information (email, phone number) and a custom message.
- If someone finds your SmartTag2, they can tap their NFC-enabled smartphone (regardless of OS) to the tag. Your registered contact information and message will be displayed on their phone, allowing them to contact you.

Maintenance
1. Battery Replacement
When the battery level is low, you will receive a notification in the SmartThings app. Replace the CR2032 battery as described in the "Setup" section.
2. Cleaning Your SmartTag2
To clean your SmartTag2, wipe it with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
3. Water and Dust Resistance
The Galaxy SmartTag2 is IP67-rated for water and dust resistance. This means it can withstand immersion in up to 1 meter (3 feet) of fresh water for up to 30 minutes. It is not recommended for beach or pool use. If the device gets wet, rinse off any residue and dry it thoroughly before use.
