Figure 1: Marea Sport B35353/5 Men's Quartz Sport Watch. This image displays the watch from a slightly angled front view, highlighting its black plastic case, vibrant orange rubber strap, and black dial with white and orange markings. The watch features a prominent crown on the right side.
Setup
Setting the Time
- Pull out the crown: Gently pull the crown (the knob on the side of the watch) out to the first click position.
- Rotate the crown: Turn the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise to set the hour and minute hands to the desired time.
- Push in the crown: Once the time is set, push the crown back into its normal position. This will start the watch movement.
Note: Ensure the crown is fully pushed in to maintain the watch's water resistance.
Operating Instructions
Water Resistance
The Marea Sport B35353/5 watch is submersible up to 20 ATM (200 meters / 660 feet). This makes it suitable for professional marine activity and serious surface water sports, but not for saturation diving.
- Do not operate the crown or push buttons (if any) while the watch is submerged in water.
- Rinse the watch with fresh water after exposure to salt water or chlorine.
Using the Rotating Bezel
The watch features a unidirectional rotating bezel. This can be used to measure elapsed time, typically for diving or other timed activities.
- Align the bezel's zero marker (triangle) with the minute hand at the start of your activity.
- Read the elapsed time on the bezel against the minute hand as it progresses.
Maintenance
Cleaning
Regular cleaning will help maintain the appearance and functionality of your watch.
- Wipe the watch case and strap with a soft, damp cloth.
- For stubborn dirt, use a mild soap solution and rinse thoroughly with fresh water.
- Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as these can damage the watch's finish.
Battery Replacement
This watch is powered by a quartz movement, which requires a battery. When the watch stops or the second hand begins to jump erratically (indicating low battery), it's time for a replacement.
It is highly recommended to have the battery replaced by a qualified watch technician to ensure proper sealing and maintain water resistance.
Storage
When not in use, store your watch in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Watch stops or runs intermittently | Low battery | Replace battery (professional service recommended) |
| Time is incorrect | Crown not fully pushed in; Time not set correctly | Push crown in fully; Reset time as per "Setting the Time" section |
| Condensation inside watch | Exposure to extreme temperature changes; Water resistance compromised | Seek professional service immediately to prevent damage |
