5. Setup

5.1. Battery Installation

  1. Open the battery compartment cover located at the bottom of the thermometer.
  2. Insert 2 AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -).
  3. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

5.2. Initial Power On

Press the Mode/Power button to turn on the thermometer. The device will perform a self-test and display the last measurement before entering standby mode, ready for measurement.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Measuring Body Temperature (Forehead Mode)

  1. Ensure the thermometer is in Body Mode (indicated by a human icon on the display). If not, press the Mode/Power button to switch modes.
  2. Hold the thermometer 2-3 cm (approximately 1 inch) away from the center of the forehead.
  3. Press the START button. The measurement will be completed in 1 second.
  4. The temperature reading will be displayed on the LCD screen.

6.2. Measuring Object/Room Temperature (Object Mode)

  1. Press the Mode/Power button to switch to Object Mode (indicated by a house icon or similar on the display).
  2. Point the thermometer at the object or area whose temperature you wish to measure.
  3. Press the START button. The temperature reading will appear on the display.

6.3. Understanding Display Colors and Alarms

The thermometer's backlight changes color to indicate temperature status:

  • Green: Normal temperature.
  • Yellow: Elevated temperature (fever alert).
  • Red: High temperature (fever alarm), accompanied by an audible signal.

6.4. Memory Recall

The thermometer automatically stores the last 10 measurements. To view past readings, press the START button repeatedly while the device is in standby mode. Each press will cycle through the stored temperatures.

6.5. Switching Temperature Units (°C/°F)

To switch between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F), ensure the device is off. Press and hold the START button for approximately 5 seconds until the unit changes on the display. Release the button, and the new unit will be set.

7. Maintenance

7.1. Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures accurate readings and extends the life of your thermometer:

  • Wipe the thermometer body with a soft, dry cloth.
  • For the infrared sensor, gently clean with a cotton swab lightly moistened with alcohol. Allow to air dry completely before use.
  • Do not immerse the thermometer in water or any cleaning solutions.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals.

7.2. Storage

Store the thermometer in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and humidity. Keep out of reach of children.

7.3. Battery Replacement

When the low battery indicator appears on the display, replace both AAA batteries immediately following the instructions in Section 5.1.
