1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing SANJOIN Kids Walkie Talkies. These devices are designed to provide clear and reliable communication for children aged 3 and up, perfect for outdoor adventures, camping, and imaginative play. 2. Safety Information

  • Battery Safety: Use only the specified battery type (4 AAA batteries per unit, not included). Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries. Insert batteries with correct polarity. Remove batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period.
  • Choking Hazard: This product contains small parts and is not suitable for children under 3 years old without adult supervision.
  • Water Resistance: These walkie talkies are not water resistant. Avoid exposure to water or high humidity.
  • Antenna: Do not attempt to remove or bend the antenna.
  • Cleaning: Clean the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.

Note: 4 AAA batteries are required per walkie talkie unit and are not included.

5. Setup

5.1 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the walkie talkie.
  2. Slide the latch or unscrew the screw to open the cover.
  3. Insert 4 AAA batteries into the compartment, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

5.2 Powering On/Off

  • To power on, press and hold the Power Button (usually marked with a power symbol) until the LCD screen illuminates.
  • To power off, press and hold the Power Button again until the LCD screen turns off.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Setting Channels and Sub-Channels

  1. Press the Menu Button (usually marked "MENU") once. The channel number on the LCD screen will flash.
  2. Use the Up () or Down () buttons to select your desired main channel (1-22).
  3. Press the Menu Button again. The sub-channel (CTCSS code) number will flash.
  4. Use the Up () or Down () buttons to select your desired sub-channel (1-99).
  5. Press the Menu Button a third time or the Talk Button to confirm and exit the menu.

Important: Both walkie talkies must be set to the same main channel and sub-channel to communicate.

6.2 Transmitting and Receiving

  • To transmit (talk), press and hold the Talk Button (usually marked "TALK"). Speak clearly into the microphone.
  • Release the Talk Button to stop transmitting and listen for a response.
  • The walkie talkie will automatically receive messages when the Talk Button is not pressed.

6.3 Adjusting Volume

Use the Up () or Down () buttons to adjust the speaker volume. These buttons typically control volume when not in menu mode.

6.4 Using the Flashlight

Press the Lamp Button (usually marked with a light bulb icon) to turn the built-in flashlight on or off.

7. Maintenance

  • Keep the walkie talkies dry. Moisture can damage the electronic circuits.
  • Do not expose to extreme temperatures (hot or cold).
  • Avoid dropping or rough handling, as this can damage internal components.
  • Clean the exterior with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals.
  • Remove batteries if storing the device for more than 30 days to prevent battery leakage.

8. Troubleshooting

No power Batteries are dead or incorrectly inserted. Replace batteries with new ones, ensuring correct polarity.
Cannot communicate with another unit Units are on different channels/sub-channels or out of range. Ensure both units are on the same main channel and sub-channel. Move closer to the other unit. Check for obstructions.
Sound is unclear or static Interference, low battery, or out of range. Change channel/sub-channel. Replace batteries. Move to an open area.
Short range Obstructions (buildings, hills), weather conditions, or low battery. Move to an open area. Ensure batteries are fresh.
