4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Preparing for Detection

  1. Ensure both the transmitter and receiver are adequately charged.
  2. Connect the headphone cable to the receiver if you prefer audio feedback for detection.
  3. Carefully feed the signal line (transmitter probe) into the pipe where the blockage is suspected.
  4. For optimal performance, especially in pipes with bends, it is recommended to use in pipes with a smooth inner wall and larger diameter.

4.2 Locating Blockages

  1. Turn on the receiver by pressing the power button.
  2. Adjust the sensitivity knob on the receiver. Rotate clockwise to increase sensitivity for a wider detection range, and counter-clockwise to decrease sensitivity for pinpointing the exact blockage area.
  3. Move the receiver along the path of the pipe. The signal lights on the receiver will illuminate, and an audible signal will be heard (if headphones are used), indicating the presence of the signal line.
  4. The signal strength will increase as you get closer to the transmitter probe. The point of maximum signal strength indicates the location of the probe, and thus the blockage.
  5. The detection depth for non-metallic pipes is 0-40 cm, and for metallic pipes, it is 0-15 cm.

5. Maintenance

5.1 General Care

  • Clean the device with a soft, dry cloth after each use. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Store the device in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Ensure the signal line is properly reeled back into its housing to prevent tangling or damage.

5.2 Replacing Waterproof Probes

The device comes with 8 spare waterproof probes for replacement. If a probe becomes damaged or worn, follow these steps:

  1. Carefully detach the old probe from the end of the signal line.
  2. Attach a new waterproof probe, ensuring a secure connection.
  3. Test the connection before re-inserting into a pipe.

6. Troubleshooting

  • No Signal Detected:
    • Ensure both the transmitter and receiver are powered on and fully charged.
    • Check if the signal line is properly inserted into the pipe and has reached the suspected blockage area.
    • Increase the receiver's sensitivity.
    • Verify that the probe is securely attached to the signal line.
  • Weak Signal:
    • Increase the receiver's sensitivity.
    • Ensure the receiver is held directly above the pipe path.
    • Consider the pipe material and depth; metallic pipes and deeper installations will naturally have weaker signals.
  • Signal Line Not Advancing in Pipe:
    • The signal line may be encountering a sharp bend or a significant obstruction. Do not force it.
    • Attempt to rotate the reel or gently pull back and re-insert.
    • The product is designed for smooth inner walls and larger diameter pipes, especially around bends.
  • Device Not Charging:
    • Check the charging cable for damage and ensure it is securely connected.
    • Verify the USB power source is functional and provides sufficient current (DC5V >=1A).
