1. Introduction
This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the FTVOGUE RGB LED Light Controller DMX512 Decoder. This device is designed to receive DMX512 standard digital control signals and convert them into PWM signals to drive LED lighting systems. It is suitable for various applications including stage, bar, and studio lighting.
The decoder can operate in two primary modes:
- DMX Mode: When connected to a DMX console, it functions as a DMX decoder, allowing precise control over RGBW LED lights. Multiple decoders can be linked to expand output channels for complex lighting effects.
- Standalone Mode: When not connected to a DMX console, the unit can act as a synchronization controller, enabling multiple decoders and LED lights to operate in synchronized patterns.
2. Safety Information
- Ensure the power supply voltage matches the device's requirements (DC 5V-24V). Incorrect voltage can damage the unit.
- This product is designed for indoor use only. Do not expose it to moisture or water, as it is not water-resistant.
- Always disconnect power before making any connections or performing maintenance.
- Avoid placing the device in areas with high temperatures, direct sunlight, or excessive dust.
- Do not attempt to open or modify the device. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel.

4. Setup
Follow these steps to set up your FTVOGUE RGB LED Light Controller DMX512 Decoder:
- Mounting: The device is designed for surface mount installation. Secure it in a stable, well-ventilated area away from heat sources and moisture.
- Connect LED Lights: Connect your RGBW LED lights to the 'OUTPUT' terminals. Each output terminal has connections for R (Red), G (Green), B (Blue), W (White), and V+ (Common Positive). Ensure correct polarity. The decoder supports 6 outputs, each controlling 4 channels (RGBW).
- Connect DMX Signal (Optional):
- For DMX control, connect your DMX console's output to the 'DMX512 IN' (XLR 3-pin) or 'Signal In' (RJ45) port on the decoder.
- If chaining multiple decoders, connect the 'DMX512 OUT' (XLR 3-pin) or 'Signal Out' (RJ45) of the first decoder to the 'DMX512 IN' or 'Signal In' of the next decoder.

- Connect Power: Connect a DC 5V-24V power supply to the 'DC1+' and 'DC1-' terminals. Ensure the power supply is appropriate for the total wattage of your connected LED lights.
- Power On: Once all connections are secure, connect the power supply to an electrical outlet. The digital display on the decoder should illuminate.
5. Operating Instructions
The decoder features a four-digit digital display and three control buttons: '+', '-', and 'SET'.

Figure 5.1: Digital display description and table of display symbols and corresponding modes.
Digital Display Description:
The four-digit display shows the current setting. The first digit indicates the function (A for Address, H for Mode, S for Speed), and the last three digits show the numerical value.
Setting DMX Address:
- Press the 'SET' button until 'A' appears as the first digit on the display (e.g., A001).
- Use the '+' and '-' buttons to adjust the DMX starting address. Each decoder occupies 24 addresses (4 channels x 6 outputs).
- Press 'SET' again to confirm and save the address.
Setting Standalone Mode:
When not connected to a DMX console, the decoder can operate in various pre-programmed modes.
- Press the 'SET' button until 'H' appears as the first digit on the display (e.g., H-00).
- Use the '+' and '-' buttons to cycle through the available modes (H-00 to H-09) as listed in Figure 5.1.
- Press 'SET' again to confirm the mode.
Adjusting Speed (for applicable modes):
For modes with adjustable speed (e.g., H-07, H-08, H-09), you can modify the speed setting.
- After selecting an applicable 'H' mode, press the 'SET' button again until 'S' appears as the first digit on the display (e.g., S-01).
- Use the '+' and '-' buttons to adjust the speed.
- Press 'SET' again to confirm the speed setting.
Remote Control:
The FTVOGUE RGB LED Light Controller also supports control via a remote control (included). Refer to the remote control's specific instructions for its functions.
6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the device. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
- Inspection: Periodically check all cable connections for wear or damage. Ensure power and DMX cables are securely connected.
- Ventilation: Ensure the device has adequate ventilation to prevent overheating. Do not block any ventilation openings.
- Storage: If storing the device for an extended period, disconnect it from power and store it in a cool, dry place.
7. Troubleshooting
- No Power:
- Check if the power supply is correctly connected and plugged into a working outlet.
- Verify the power supply voltage matches the decoder's requirements (DC 5V-24V).
- LEDs Not Responding:
- Ensure LED lights are correctly wired to the output terminals with correct polarity.
- In DMX mode, verify the DMX address is correctly set on the decoder and matches the address sent by the DMX console.
- Check DMX signal cables for damage or loose connections.
- If in standalone mode, ensure a valid 'H' mode is selected.
- Incorrect Colors/Flickering:
- Verify the wiring of RGBW channels to the LED lights.
- Check for DMX signal interference or incorrect DMX termination in a chain.
- Decoder Overheating:
- Ensure adequate ventilation around the device.
- Reduce the load on the decoder if it exceeds its maximum current capacity (3A per channel).
