2. Safety Information

Key Components:

4. Setup
- Initial Charge: Before first use, plug the timer into a live wall outlet for at least 30 minutes to charge the internal backup battery. This battery retains settings during power outages.
- Resetting the Timer: If the display is blank or shows erratic characters, or if you wish to clear all previous settings, insert a small pointed object (like a pen tip) into the recessed RESET hole and press firmly. The display will show "0:00" and all settings will be cleared.
- Setting Current Time:
- Press and hold the CLOCK button.
- While holding CLOCK, press the WEEK button repeatedly until the correct day of the week is displayed.
- While holding CLOCK, press the HOUR button repeatedly until the correct hour is displayed.
- While holding CLOCK, press the MINUTE button repeatedly until the correct minute is displayed.
- Release the CLOCK button. The current time is now set.
5. Operating Instructions (Programming)
The timer allows you to set up to 10 ON/OFF programs. Each program consists of an ON time and an OFF time.
5.1 Setting ON/OFF Programs
- Press the TIMER button once. The display will show "1 ON". This indicates you are setting the first ON time.
- Press the WEEK button to select the desired day(s) for this program. Options include individual days, weekdays, weekends, or all 7 days.
- Press the HOUR button to set the desired hour for the ON time.
- Press the MINUTE button to set the desired minute for the ON time.
- Press the TIMER button again. The display will show "1 OFF". This indicates you are setting the first OFF time.
- Repeat steps 2-4 to set the desired day(s), hour, and minute for the OFF time. (Note: The day selection for OFF time will typically match the ON time, but can be adjusted if needed for programs spanning midnight).
- To set additional programs (2 ON/OFF through 10 ON/OFF), press the TIMER button repeatedly and follow steps 2-6 for each program.
- Once all desired programs are set, press the CLOCK button to exit programming mode and return to the current time display.
5.2 Manual Override (ON/AUTO/OFF)
Press the ON/AUTO/OFF button repeatedly to cycle through the following modes:
- ON: The timer output is continuously ON, overriding all programs.
- AUTO: The timer operates according to the programmed ON/OFF times. This is the standard operating mode for automated control.
- OFF: The timer output is continuously OFF, overriding all programs.
Ensure the timer is in AUTO mode for your programs to function.
5.3 Random Function
The RANDOM function is designed to give a "lived-in" appearance to your home by randomly turning connected lights or appliances ON and OFF within a specific time window (e.g., 6 PM to 6 AM). This can be useful for security purposes when you are away.
- To activate: Press the RANDOM button. "RANDOM" will appear on the display.
- To deactivate: Press the RANDOM button again. "RANDOM" will disappear from the display.
Note: The random function typically operates only when the timer is in AUTO mode and within a predefined evening/night period. Consult the display for specific indications.
5.4 Clearing Programs
To clear a specific ON/OFF program:
- Press the TIMER button repeatedly until the program you wish to clear is displayed (e.g., "3 ON").
- Press the RES/RCL button. The display for that specific ON/OFF program will show "--:--", indicating it has been cleared.
- Repeat for the corresponding OFF program.
- Press CLOCK to exit.
To clear all programs and settings, use the recessed RESET button as described in the Setup section.
6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Unplug the timer from the wall outlet before cleaning. Wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
- Battery: The internal battery is designed for long-term use and maintains settings during power interruptions. If the timer is stored for extended periods, plug it in for a few hours every few months to keep the battery charged.
7. Troubleshooting
