4.1 Front Panel

5. Setup

1. Placement: Place the power supply on a stable, flat surface with adequate ventilation around the unit. Ensure no objects obstruct the air vents on the sides and rear.
2. Power Connection: Connect the provided power cord to the AC power input socket on the rear panel of the DPS305U. Plug the other end into a standard AC110V, 60HZ wall outlet.
3. Initial Check: Before connecting any load, ensure the power supply is turned OFF.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Basic Operation

1. Power On: Flip the ON/OFF switch on the front panel to the 'ON' position. The digital display will illuminate.
2. Adjust Voltage: Use the V-COARSE knob for rough voltage adjustment and the V-FINE knob for precise adjustment. Observe the voltage reading on the display.
3. Adjust Current (Limit): Use the A-COARSE knob for rough current limit adjustment and the A-FINE knob for precise adjustment. This sets the maximum current the power supply will deliver.
4. Connect Load: Connect your device or circuit to the output terminals using the provided test leads. Ensure correct polarity: Red to positive (+), Black to negative (-), and Green to ground (⊗).
5. Monitor Output: The display will show the actual voltage, current, and power being delivered to the load.
6. Power Off: When finished, disconnect the load, then flip the ON/OFF switch to the 'OFF' position.

6.2 Current Regulation (Setting Current Limit)

To set a specific current limit before connecting a sensitive load, follow these steps:

1. Initial Voltage Setting: Turn on the power supply. Adjust the voltage to approximately 5-10V using the voltage adjustment knobs.
2. Short-Circuit Terminals: Carefully short-circuit the positive (+) and negative (-) output terminals using a wire or the provided test leads. Ensure the short-circuit alarm is set to the C.C (Constant Current) position if applicable (indicated by the C.C light illuminating).
3. Adjust Current: While the terminals are short-circuited, use the A-COARSE knob to roughly set the desired current value. Then, use the A-FINE knob to fine-tune to the exact required current limit. The display will show the set current.
4. Disconnect Short-Circuit: Remove the short-circuit wire/leads from the terminals.
5. Set Operating Voltage: Adjust the voltage to the desired operating voltage for your load using the voltage regulation method described in Section 6.1.
6. Connect Load: You can now connect your load. The power supply will operate at the set voltage, and the current will not exceed the limit you just set.

8. Maintenance
