Image: The complete BITIWEND Driveway Alarm System, featuring two black motion sensors and a compact black plug-in receiver with a blue LED ring.

The system utilizes passive infrared (PIR) technology to detect heat and movement, triggering an alert on the indoor receiver. With a long wireless range and customizable alert options, it helps you stay informed of activity around your home or office.

What's Included

  • 1 x Plug-in Receiver
  • 2 x Wireless Motion Detectors
  • 1 x User Manual
  • Mounting hardware (screws, mounting bracket)

Setup Guide

1. Prepare Motion Detectors

  1. Each motion detector requires 4 x 1.5V AA alkaline batteries (not included).
  2. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the sensor. Use a small screwdriver to open it.
  3. Insert the batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
  4. Securely close the battery compartment.

2. Install Motion Detectors

The motion detectors are weatherproof (IP44 rated) and designed for outdoor use in various conditions.

  • Choose a mounting location approximately 5 feet (1.5 meters) above the ground. This height helps optimize detection and minimize false alarms from small animals.
  • Mount the sensors across from each other if monitoring an entrance like a gate or driveway, ensuring the detection beams cross the monitored area.
  • Use the provided mounting brackets and screws to securely attach the sensors to a stable surface such as a tree, fence post, or wall.
  • Adjust the sensor's angle (15° vertical, 45° horizontal detection) to cover the desired area and avoid unwanted triggers.

3. Position the Receiver

  • Plug the receiver into a standard wall outlet in a central location within your home or office where you are likely to hear the alerts.
  • Ensure the receiver is within the 600-foot wireless range of the motion detectors. Actual range may vary based on terrain and obstacles.

Operating Instructions

System Activation

The system is pre-programmed for immediate use. Once batteries are installed in the sensors and the receiver is plugged in, the system is active.

Motion Detection and Alerts

  • When a person, vehicle, or large animal moves within the sensor's detection range (0-20 feet), a signal is sent wirelessly to the receiver.
  • The receiver will then chime, alerting you to the detected motion.

Customizing Melodies and Volume

  • The receiver offers 58 selectable melodies and 5 volume adjustment levels.
  • Refer to the receiver's buttons (Up/Down, Volume) to cycle through melodies and adjust the volume to your preference.
  • You can assign different melodies to different sensors to distinguish which area has detected motion.

Expandable System

The BITIWEND system is fully expandable, allowing you to add up to 58 additional sensors and receivers for comprehensive coverage of your property.

Maintenance

Battery Replacement

When the motion detector's performance decreases or the LED indicator on the receiver flashes irregularly, it may be time to replace the batteries in the motion sensors. Follow the steps in the "Setup Guide" to replace the 4 x AA batteries in each sensor.

Weather Resistance

The motion sensors are designed to be weatherproof (IP44 rated) and can withstand various outdoor conditions, including hot and cold temperatures. Regular visual inspection for debris or damage is recommended.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
No alert from receiver when motion is detected.
  • 1. Sensor batteries are low or dead.
  • 2. Receiver is unplugged or not powered.
  • 3. Sensor is out of range of the receiver.
  • 4. Obstructions blocking the signal.
  • 1. Replace batteries in the motion sensor.
  • 2. Ensure receiver is securely plugged into a working outlet.
  • 3. Move sensor or receiver closer to each other.
  • 4. Clear any large metal objects or dense foliage between sensor and receiver.
Frequent false alarms.
  • 1. Sensor angle is too wide or pointed at moving objects (e.g., tree branches, direct sunlight, small animals).
  • 2. Sensor is too close to heat sources or reflective surfaces.
  • 1. Adjust the sensor's vertical and horizontal detection angles (15° vertical, 45° horizontal) to narrow the detection zone.
  • 2. Reposition the sensor away from direct sunlight, heating vents, or highly reflective surfaces.
Short detection range.
  • 1. Sensor is mounted too high or too low.
  • 2. Obstructions in the detection path.
  • 1. Ensure sensor is mounted at the recommended 5-foot height.
  • 2. Clear any large objects directly in front of the sensor.
