Operating Instructions
Using the Drawers
The file cabinet features two drawers designed for document storage. The top drawer includes a locking mechanism for securing sensitive items, while both drawers offer deep storage suitable for hanging folders. To open, gently pull the handle. To close, push the drawer firmly until it is fully seated.
- Weight Capacity: The top of the cabinet can support up to 50 lbs. Each drawer can hold up to 30 lbs. Do not exceed these limits to ensure stability and longevity.
- Hanging Files: The drawers are equipped to accommodate standard hanging file folders, keeping your documents organized and easily accessible.
Locking Mechanism
The top drawer is equipped with a key lock to secure its contents. Insert the key into the lock on the top drawer and turn clockwise to lock, and counter-clockwise to unlock. Ensure the drawer is fully closed before attempting to lock it.
Mobility and Stability
The cabinet is fitted with four rolling casters for easy movement. Two of these casters have locking levers. To move the cabinet, ensure the caster locks are disengaged. To keep the cabinet stationary, engage the locks on the front casters by pressing down on the lever.

Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and appearance of your Lavish Home File Cabinet, follow these simple maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Wipe the surfaces with a dry, soft cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals, as they may damage the painted finish.
- Drawer Slides: Periodically check drawer slides for smooth operation. If they become stiff, a small amount of silicone lubricant can be applied.
- Hardware: Occasionally check all screws and fasteners to ensure they remain tight. Retighten if necessary to maintain structural integrity.
- Casters: Keep casters free of debris (hair, dust, etc.) to ensure smooth rolling.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your file cabinet, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Cabinet is wobbly or unstable. | Loose fasteners; uneven assembly; uneven floor. | Ensure all assembly screws are fully tightened. Verify the cabinet is on a level surface. If necessary, adjust caster height or use shims. |
| Drawers do not slide smoothly or are misaligned. | Drawer slides incorrectly installed; debris in slides; overloaded drawer. | Check that drawer slides are installed correctly and are parallel. Clean any debris from the slides. Reduce drawer load if it exceeds capacity. |
| Lock mechanism is not working. | Drawer not fully closed; key not fully inserted or turned. | Ensure the top drawer is completely closed and flush with the cabinet frame. Insert the key fully and turn firmly. |
| Difficulty during assembly. | Instructions unclear; parts misidentified. | Review the assembly diagrams carefully. Ensure correct orientation of parts. Do not force components; if a part doesn't fit, re-check the instructions. |
