ECO-WORTHY Dual-Axis Solar Tracker User Manual

Model: ECO-LA150/ECO-LA300

1. Introduction

The ECO-WORTHY Dual-Axis Solar Tracker is designed to maximize solar energy capture by continuously orienting solar panels towards the sun. This system significantly increases power generation compared to fixed solar panel installations, offering enhanced efficiency and adaptability to various environmental conditions.

This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your ECO-WORTHY solar tracker.

Important Note:

A battery is required to power the tracker support, which is not included in the package. Ensure you have a suitable 12V battery for operation.

4. Installation Guide

Follow these steps carefully for proper installation of your solar tracker. Refer to the diagrams for visual guidance.

4.1 Site Preparation

Ensure the installation site provides a stable, level surface of at least 314.2 cm x 305 cm. The main pole height is 148.5 cm. For ground installations, concrete foundations are recommended to withstand strong winds and ensure long-term stability.

4.2 Assembly Steps

  1. Fix the Base: Use expansion screws to securely fix the main pole base to your prepared foundation.
  2. Connect Rods and Actuators: Connect the A-E rods and linear actuators to the main pole as per the assembly diagram.
  3. Install Crossbars and Controller: Mount the controller and install the 8 crossbars that will support the solar panels.
  4. Install Solar Panels: Secure your solar panels to the crossbars using the provided clamps. The system is designed for 6 ECO-WORTHY 195W panels, but can adapt to various panel sizes. Refer to the table below for compatibility.
A four-step diagram illustrating the installation process: 1. Fixing the base with expansion screws, 2. Connecting rods and actuators to the main pole, 3. Mounting the controller and installing crossbars, 4. Installing solar panels with clamps.

5. Operation

The ECO-WORTHY Dual-Axis Solar Tracker operates automatically to optimize solar energy collection.

5.1 How It Works

Diagram explaining the operational flow of the solar tracker system, showing the sun tracking sensor sending signals to the controller, which then controls the driver set (actuators) to adjust the panel angle.

Figure 5.1: Operational flow of the solar tracker system.

  1. Sun Tracking Sensor: Detects sunlight from different directions and transmits angle offset signals to the controller.
  2. Controller: Receives sunlight data and wind speed data, calculates the optimal angle, and sends turn signals to the driver set.
  3. Driver Set (Linear Actuators): Adjusts the angle of the solar panels based on signals from the controller.
  4. Wind Speed Sensor: Detects wind speed. If strong winds are detected, it signals the controller to return the system to a default horizontal position for safety.

5.2 Automatic Adjustments

The tracker automatically adjusts its position throughout the day to follow the sun's path. It also has built-in safety features:

6. Maintenance

To ensure the long-term performance and durability of your ECO-WORTHY solar tracker, regular maintenance is recommended.

Important:

Any modifications to the product not specified in this manual may void the warranty and affect product performance. Do not attempt unauthorized repairs or alterations.

7. Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your solar tracker.

7.1 Common Issues and Solutions

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Tracker not moving or blocked.
  • Power supply issue (battery).
  • Obstruction in moving parts.
  • Sensor malfunction.
  • Actuator issue (e.g., rust, motor failure).
  • Check battery connection and charge.
  • Inspect for physical obstructions and clear them.
  • Ensure sensors are clean and properly connected.
  • Inspect actuators for damage or corrosion. Contact support if motor failure is suspected.
Inaccurate tracking or reduced efficiency.
  • Dirty sun tracking sensor.
  • Incorrect sensor calibration.
  • Partial shading on panels or sensor.
  • Clean the sun tracking sensor.
  • Refer to the controller manual for calibration procedures.
  • Ensure no objects are casting shadows on the panels or sensor.
Tracker does not return to horizontal in wind.
  • Wind speed sensor malfunction.
  • Controller settings for wind protection are incorrect.
  • Check wind speed sensor connection and cleanliness.
  • Verify wind protection settings in the controller manual.
