4. Setup Guide
The Radiolink F450 is an RTF (Ready-To-Fly) kit, meaning it comes pre-assembled and with default parameters set. Minimal setup is required before your first flight.
4.1. Battery Charging
- Connect the provided G.T. Power A3 Charger to a power outlet.
- Connect the 11.1V 3700mAh LiPo battery to the charger. Ensure correct polarity.
- Allow the battery to charge fully. Refer to the charger's indicator lights for charging status.
- Always supervise the battery during charging and disconnect once fully charged.
4.2. Propeller Installation (if not pre-installed)
- Identify the correct propellers for each motor. The 9450 self-tightening propellers are typically marked for clockwise (CW) and counter-clockwise (CCW) rotation.
- Match the propellers to the corresponding motor shafts. Gently twist and press down until they are securely fastened. Ensure they are tight but do not overtighten.
4.3. Initial Power-Up
- Ensure the T8FB RC Transmitter is powered off.
- Connect the fully charged battery to the drone's power connector. Secure the battery with the binding band.
- Place the drone on a flat, stable surface.
- Power on the T8FB RC Transmitter.
- Observe the drone's indicator lights for initialization. The drone should perform a self-check.
- If the transmitter and receiver are not already bound, refer to the T8FB transmitter manual for binding instructions. The RTF version is typically pre-bound.
5. Operating Instructions
Familiarize yourself with the flight modes and controls before attempting your first flight.
5.1. Flight Modes

Image 5.1: Overview of the default flight modes available on the F450 drone.
- Stabilize Mode: The drone maintains a level attitude, but the pilot controls all movements (roll, pitch, yaw, throttle). This mode requires active pilot input.
- Alt-Hold Mode: The drone automatically maintains its altitude, allowing the pilot to focus on horizontal movement.
- Pos-Hold Mode: The drone maintains both its altitude and horizontal position using GPS. This mode is ideal for stable hovering.
- RTL (Return-To-Launch) Mode: The drone automatically flies back to its takeoff location and lands. This feature relies on accurate GPS data.
5.2. GPS Auto Return and Custom Flight Path
Leveraging the TS100 GPS M8N Module and Crossflight flight controller, the F450 drone supports advanced navigation features:
- GPS Auto Return: In case of signal loss or manual activation, the drone can automatically return to its recorded home point.
- Custom Flight Path: Plan and execute predefined flight routes using compatible ground station software (e.g., Mission Planner) connected via the T8FB transmitter.
5.3. On-Screen Display (OSD)
The integrated OSD provides critical flight data directly on your FPV screen or Mission Planner interface. Information includes:
- Flight mode
- Distance from home
- Number of GPS satellites
- Longitude and latitude
- Vertical and wind speed
- Battery voltage and current
- Return route and exact route
- Vibration status and direction
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your F450 drone.
- Pre-Flight Checks: Before each flight, inspect propellers for damage, ensure all screws are tight, and check battery charge levels.
- Post-Flight Inspection: After each flight, check for any signs of wear, loose connections, or physical damage to the frame, motors, and electronics.
- Battery Care: Store LiPo batteries in a cool, dry place at storage voltage (around 3.8V per cell). Do not overcharge or over-discharge. Discontinue use if a battery is swollen or damaged.
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the drone. Avoid using liquids or solvents that could damage electronic components.
- Firmware Updates: Periodically check the Radiolink official website for firmware updates for the Crossflight flight controller and T8FB transmitter to ensure optimal performance and access to new features.
7. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your F450 drone.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Drone does not power on | Battery not charged or connected incorrectly; damaged power cable. | Ensure battery is fully charged and securely connected. Check for visible damage to cables. |
| Motors not spinning | Transmitter not powered on; drone not armed; ESC calibration issue; motor/ESC damage. | Power on transmitter. Arm the drone (refer to transmitter manual). Recalibrate ESCs if necessary. Inspect motors/ESCs for damage. |
| Unstable flight / Drifting | Improper calibration (accelerometer/gyro); damaged propeller; unbalanced load. | Perform accelerometer/gyro calibration. Check and replace damaged propellers. Ensure payload is balanced. |
| GPS not locking / Poor accuracy | Flying indoors or near tall structures; GPS module obstructed or faulty. | Fly in an open area with a clear view of the sky. Ensure GPS module is correctly mounted and unobstructed. |
| Loss of control signal | Out of range; interference; receiver/transmitter issue. | Stay within the specified control range. Avoid areas with high electromagnetic interference. Check receiver and transmitter connections. |
