Maintenance
Cleaning
Regularly wipe the camera lens and body with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust and debris. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the camera's finish or lens.
Firmware Updates
Keep your camera's firmware updated through the Tapo app to ensure optimal performance, security, and access to new features. The app will notify you when updates are available.
Troubleshooting
Connectivity Issues
Ensure your camera is within range of your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi router. If connectivity is unstable, try moving the router closer or using a Wi-Fi extender. If you change your Wi-Fi network, you will need to remove the camera from the app and re-add it to connect to the new network.
Motion Tracking Inaccuracies
Motion tracking can sometimes be affected by shadows or rapid changes in lighting. Adjust the sensitivity settings in the app. If the camera frequently loses track or moves too slowly, consider disabling auto-tracking and relying on fixed preset views.
Power Outage Behavior
In the event of a power outage, the camera will restart once power is restored. However, it may not return to its previous 'home' position automatically. You might need to manually adjust its view or use preset positions in the app to restore desired coverage.
SD Card Errors
If you encounter issues with SD card recording, ensure the card is properly inserted and formatted through the Tapo app. If problems persist, try using a different compatible microSD card.
