2. Package Contents

Please verify that all components are present in your package:

  • Solar Light (2 units)
  • Solar Panel (2 units)
  • Remote Control (2 units)
  • Screw Kits (for mounting)
  • Mounting Bracket (4 units)
  • User Manual (this document)

3. Safety Information

  • Initial Charge: Before first use, ensure the solar panel charges under direct sunlight for 6-8 hours.
  • Activation: Activate the switch on the back of the light panel before adjusting modes with the remote control.
  • Daytime Operation: Solar lights will not operate during the day due to the integrated light sensor. To use during the day, disconnect the cable between the solar panel and the LED lights.
  • Placement: Install the solar panel in a location that receives maximum direct sunlight, away from shade caused by trees, buildings, or other obstructions.
  • Water Drainage: The light units have two drainage holes at the bottom. Do not install the lights upside down, as this will prevent proper water drainage and may lead to damage.
  • Water Resistance: The product is IP65 waterproof, designed to withstand rain and adverse weather conditions. However, avoid submerging the unit in water.
  • Cable Connection: Ensure the 16.4ft extension cable connecting the solar panel and light unit is securely twisted and tightened to maintain a waterproof seal.

4. Setup and Installation

The Gusicil solar lights feature a split design, allowing the solar panel and light unit to be installed independently. This provides flexibility for optimal solar charging and light placement.

Installation Steps:

  1. Mount the Bracket: Choose a suitable location for the light unit. Fix the mounting bracket to the wall using the provided screws. Ensure the U-shaped opening of the bracket is facing upwards.
Installation step 1: Mounting the bracket

Image 3: Close-up of the mounting bracket being screwed into a wall.

  2. Attach the Light Panel: Insert the light panel into the mounted bracket. Ensure the sensor head on the light panel faces downwards for optimal motion detection.
Installation step 2: Attaching the light panel to the bracket

Image 4: Close-up of the light panel being slid into the mounted bracket.

  3. Connect Solar Panel: Position the solar panel in a location that receives maximum direct sunlight throughout the day. Connect the cable from the solar panel to the light panel, then twist to tighten the connection securely.
  4. Activate the Light: Press the main power button on the back of the light unit to activate it. The light is now ready for operation and mode selection via the remote control.

Important Note: The solar panel and light unit angles can be adjusted to optimize sunlight absorption and light coverage. The solar panel can be adjusted up to 160 degrees, and the light panel up to 180 degrees.

5. Operating Instructions

The Gusicil solar lights offer three distinct lighting modes, controllable via the included remote control. Ensure the light unit is activated before selecting a mode.

Three lighting modes: Strong Light Sensor, Dim Light Sensor, Dusk to Dawn

Image 5: Visual representation of the three operating modes, showing light behavior in different scenarios.

Lighting Modes:

  • Mode 1: Strong Light Sensor Mode (Recommended)

The light remains off until motion is detected. Upon detection, it illuminates at 100% brightness for 15 seconds, then turns off if no further motion is detected. This mode is energy-saving and ideal for areas requiring light only when occupied, such as porches or parking lots.

  • Mode 2: Dim Light Sensor Mode

The light maintains a continuous 30% brightness. When motion is detected, it brightens to 100% for 15 seconds, then returns to 30% brightness if no further motion is detected. This mode can serve as a security light to deter animals or provide constant low-level illumination with temporary full brightness.

  • Mode 3: Dusk to Dawn Mode

The light automatically turns on at 30% brightness at dusk and remains on at this level throughout the night, turning off at dawn. This mode is suitable for continuous ambient lighting in yards, gardens, or patios.

Using the Remote Control:

The remote control allows convenient selection of the desired lighting mode without needing to access the light unit directly. Point the remote towards the light unit and press the corresponding button for Mode 1, Mode 2, or Mode 3. There are also ON/OFF buttons for manual control.

Motion Sensor: The motion sensor has a detection range of up to 26 feet and a 180-degree detection angle.

6. Maintenance

  • Solar Panel Cleaning: Regularly wipe the solar panel with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust, dirt, or debris. A clean panel ensures optimal sunlight absorption and charging efficiency.
  • Light Unit Cleaning: Clean the LED protection screen and motion sensor lens periodically to ensure clear light output and accurate motion detection.
  • Cable Inspection: Periodically check the connection cable between the solar panel and light unit for any signs of wear or damage. Ensure it remains securely tightened.
  • Winter Care: In areas with heavy snow, ensure the solar panel is clear of snow to allow charging.

7. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Light does not turn on at night.
  • Light switch is OFF.
  • Insufficient solar panel charge.
  • Solar panel is in a shaded location.
  • Cable connection is loose or damaged.
  • Ensure the main power button on the light unit is pressed to activate.
  • Allow the solar panel to charge under direct sunlight for 6-8 hours.
  • Relocate the solar panel to an area with maximum direct sunlight.
  • Check and secure the cable connection between the solar panel and light unit.
Light is dim or runtime is short.
  • Solar panel is dirty.
  • Insufficient sunlight exposure.
  • Weather conditions (e.g., prolonged cloudy days).
  • Clean the solar panel surface.
  • Ensure the solar panel is positioned for optimal sunlight.
  • Consider using Mode 1 (Strong Light Sensor Mode) to conserve battery power during periods of low sunlight.
