4. Setup

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove all packaging materials and ensure all components are present.
  2. Placement: Place the espresso machine on a dry, stable, and level surface, away from heat sources and direct sunlight. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.
  3. Fill Water Tank: Remove the water tank from the back of the machine. Fill it with fresh, cold water up to the MAX line. Replace the tank securely.
  4. First Use / Priming:
    • Plug the machine into a grounded power outlet.
    • Place a cup under the portafilter.
    • Press the power button to turn on the machine. Wait for the indicator light to stop flashing, indicating it's ready.
    • Press the single shot button to run water through the system for about 30 seconds. This primes the pump and cleans the internal components. Repeat if necessary until water flows smoothly.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Brewing Espresso

  1. Prepare Ground Coffee: Use fresh, finely ground coffee. Fill the appropriate filter basket (single or double shot) with ground coffee.
  2. Tamp Coffee: Use the included tamper to press the coffee grounds firmly and evenly. Wipe any excess grounds from the rim of the filter basket.
  3. Insert Portafilter: Attach the portafilter to the brew head by aligning it and twisting it firmly to the right until it locks into place.
  4. Place Cup: Place your espresso cup(s) on the drip tray directly under the portafilter spouts.
  5. Brew: Press the single or double shot button on the control panel. The machine will automatically dispense the correct amount of espresso.
  6. Remove Portafilter: Once brewing is complete, carefully remove the portafilter by twisting it to the left. Dispose of the used coffee grounds.

5.2 Frothing Milk

  1. Prepare Milk: Fill a stainless steel frothing pitcher with cold milk (dairy or non-dairy) to about one-third full.
  2. Activate Steam: Turn the steam control knob to the steam icon. Wait for the steam indicator light to illuminate steadily, indicating the machine is ready to produce steam.
  3. Purge Steam Wand: Briefly open the steam valve to release any condensed water from the wand into the drip tray. Close the valve.
  4. Froth Milk: Immerse the tip of the steam wand just below the surface of the milk. Slowly open the steam valve. Move the pitcher up and down to create foam. Once desired foam and temperature are reached, close the steam valve and remove the pitcher.
  5. Clean Steam Wand: Immediately wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth to remove any milk residue. Briefly open the steam valve again to clear any milk from inside the wand.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

  • Drip Tray: Empty and clean the drip tray daily or when the indicator floats up. Wash with warm, soapy water and rinse thoroughly.
  • Water Tank: Clean the water tank weekly. Wash with warm, soapy water, rinse, and air dry.
  • Portafilter and Filter Baskets: After each use, remove coffee grounds and rinse the portafilter and filter baskets under warm water.
  • Steam Wand: As mentioned in operating instructions, clean immediately after each use to prevent milk residue buildup.
  • Descaling: Depending on water hardness, descale the machine every 2-3 months. Follow the instructions of a suitable descaling solution.
  • Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
