Setup and First Use
Charging the Toothbrush
- Place the handle on the charger. Ensure the charger is plugged into a working electrical outlet (AC100V-240V 50/60Hz).
- The battery indicator light will flash green to indicate charging.
- A full charge takes approximately 24 hours and provides about 2 weeks of regular use. The battery indicator will stop flashing and remain solid green when fully charged.
Attaching the Brush Head
- Align the brush head with the metal shaft of the handle.
- Push the brush head down firmly until it clicks into place.
- To remove, pull the brush head straight up from the handle.
Operating Instructions
Brushing Your Teeth
- Wet the bristles and apply a small amount of toothpaste.
- Place the toothbrush bristles against your teeth at a slight angle towards the gumline.
- Press the power button to turn on the toothbrush.
- Gently move the brush head slowly across your teeth in small back-and-forth motions, allowing the Sonicare to do the work.
- The built-in timer will signal when you have completed the recommended brushing time.
- The pressure sensor will alert you if you are brushing too hard.
Cleaning Modes and Intensity Settings
Your Sonicare ProtectiveClean Premium offers multiple cleaning modes and intensity settings for a personalized brushing experience:

Cleaning the Toothbrush

- Wipe the handle with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the handle in water.
- Clean the charger regularly with a damp cloth, ensuring it is unplugged before cleaning.
Replacing Brush Heads
For optimal performance and hygiene, replace your brush head every 3 months, or sooner if the blue indicator bristles fade to white. Replacement brush heads are available from Philips Sonicare retailers.
