3. Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to set up your temperature monitor:

  1. Mount the Main Unit: Choose a suitable location for the main display unit where it is easily visible and accessible.
  2. Connect the Temperature Probe: Plug the 5-meter waterproof temperature probe into the designated port on the main display unit. Position the probe in the area where temperature monitoring is required (e.g., inside a freezer, refrigerator, or pond). Ensure the probe cable is routed safely and does not interfere with door seals or moving parts.
  3. Connect the Alarm Unit: Connect the audible and visual alarm unit to the main display unit. Place the alarm unit in a location where its sound and light indicators are clearly noticeable.
  4. Connect Power: Plug the 12V adapter into a standard power outlet, then connect the adapter's output to the main display unit. The unit will power on and display the current temperature.
  5. Initial Settings: Upon first power-on, the device will display the real-time temperature. Proceed to Section 4 for detailed operating instructions to set your desired high and low temperature alarm thresholds and adjust alarm volume.

4. Operating Instructions

The CSRBUY temperature monitor allows for precise control over temperature thresholds and alarm behavior.

4.1 Setting High and Low Temperature Alarms

The device defaults to alarming when the temperature is below 0°C or above 80°C. To adjust these settings:

  1. Press the SET button once to enter the high temperature alarm setting mode. The display will flash the current high temperature threshold.
  2. Use the UP (↑) and DOWN (↓) buttons to adjust the desired high temperature alarm value.
  3. Press the SET button again to confirm the high temperature setting and move to the low temperature alarm setting mode. The display will flash the current low temperature threshold.
  4. Use the UP (↑) and DOWN (↓) buttons to adjust the desired low temperature alarm value.
  5. Press the SET button a third time to save both settings and return to normal temperature display mode.

4.2 Adjusting Alarm Volume

The alarm unit features an adjustable sound level from 0-120dB. Locate the volume control on the alarm unit and rotate it to achieve the desired sound intensity. For visual alarm only, the speaker connection cable can be cut after disassembling the product.

4.3 Temperature Correction Function

Due to the 5-meter length of the temperature probe cable, minor deviations in measured temperature may occur. The device includes a temperature correction function to compensate for this:

  1. While in normal display mode, press and hold the SET button for approximately 3 seconds until the display changes to a parameter setting mode (e.g., 'P0', 'P1', etc.).
  2. Use the UP (↑) or DOWN (↓) buttons to navigate to the temperature correction parameter (refer to the full manual for specific parameter codes, typically 'P4' or similar).
  3. Press SET to enter the correction value adjustment.
  4. Use the UP (↑) and DOWN (↓) buttons to set the correction value (e.g., +0.5°C or -0.5°C).
  5. Press SET to save and exit, or wait for the unit to automatically exit after a few seconds of inactivity.

4.4 Alarm Behavior

When an alarm condition is met (temperature outside the set range), the audible and visual alarm will activate. To temporarily silence the alarm, press any button on the main unit. If the temperature remains outside the set range after 5 minutes, the alarm will reactivate. This delay function helps prevent nuisance alarms from temporary temperature changes, such as opening a freezer door.

5. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and accurate operation of your CSRBUY Temperature Monitor, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Wipe the main unit and alarm unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. The temperature probe is waterproof and can be cleaned with a damp cloth.
  • Probe Placement: Periodically check the temperature probe's placement to ensure it is securely positioned and not obstructed. Ensure the cable is not pinched or damaged.
  • Power Supply: Ensure the 12V adapter is securely connected and free from damage. Use only the provided adapter or a compatible replacement.
  • Environmental Conditions: While the probe is waterproof, the main unit and alarm unit are not. Protect them from direct moisture, extreme temperatures, and direct sunlight.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your temperature monitor, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • No Display/No Power:
    • Check if the 12V power adapter is securely plugged into both the wall outlet and the main unit.
    • Verify that the power outlet is functional.
  • Inaccurate Temperature Reading:
    • Ensure the temperature probe is correctly connected and fully inserted into its port.
    • Use the temperature correction function (Section 4.3) to calibrate the reading if a known deviation exists.
    • Verify the probe is not directly exposed to heat sources or cold drafts that do not represent the ambient temperature of the monitored area.
  • Alarm Not Sounding/Too Quiet:
    • Check the alarm volume adjustment on the alarm unit.
    • Ensure the alarm unit is properly connected to the main display unit.
    • Verify that the high and low temperature alarm thresholds are set correctly and that the current temperature is outside these thresholds.
  • Alarm Sounds Too Frequently:
    • Adjust the high and low temperature alarm thresholds to a wider range if frequent, minor fluctuations are acceptable.
    • Remember the 5-minute delay function; the alarm will reactivate if the condition persists.
  • Probe Cable Indentation on Door Gasket:
    • If using the probe through a refrigerator/freezer door, the cable may create an indentation. Monitor the seal for air leaks. If leaks occur, consider alternative probe routing or repositioning.
