Setup and First Use

Unpacking

Carefully remove all packaging materials from the coffee maker. Ensure all components listed in the "Product Overview" section are present and undamaged.

Initial Cleaning

Before first use, wash the water tank, portafilter, filter basket, and drip tray with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Wipe the exterior of the machine with a damp cloth.

Filling the Water Tank

Remove the water tank from the back of the machine. Fill it with fresh, cold drinking water up to the MAX level indicator. Replace the water tank securely.

Priming the Machine (First Use)

  1. Ensure the water tank is filled.
  2. Place a large cup or container under the portafilter outlet.
  3. Plug the appliance into a suitable power outlet. Press the Power (I/O) button. The indicator lights will flash as the machine preheats.
  4. Once the lights are stable, indicating preheating is complete, press the Double Shot button. Allow water to flow through until the tank is nearly empty. This primes the pump and cleans the internal system.
  5. Repeat this process for the steam wand: place a cup under the steam wand, turn the Steam Control Knob to release steam until water flows out, then close the knob.

Operating Instructions

Making Espresso

  1. Ensure the water tank is filled and the machine is plugged in and powered on. Allow it to preheat until the indicator lights are stable.
  2. Add ground coffee to the filter basket. For a single shot, use one scoop; for a double shot, use two scoops. Tamp the coffee evenly.
  3. Insert the portafilter into the group head and twist it firmly to the right until it is securely locked.
  4. Place your espresso cup(s) on the drip tray directly under the portafilter spouts.
  5. Press the Single Shot or Double Shot button. The machine will begin brewing.
  6. The machine will automatically stop when the desired volume is dispensed. Remove the cup(s).

  3. Position the steam wand just below the surface of the milk.
  4. Slowly turn the Steam Control Knob to release steam. Move the pitcher up and down to create foam.

  • Portafilter and Filter Basket: After each use, remove the portafilter, discard coffee grounds, and rinse the portafilter and filter basket under running water. Use a brush to remove any stubborn residue.
  • Steam Wand: Immediately after frothing milk, wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth. Purge a small amount of steam to clear any milk residue from inside the wand.

Descaling

Over time, mineral deposits (limescale) can build up in your machine, affecting performance and taste. Descale your machine regularly, depending on water hardness and frequency of use (e.g., every 2-3 months).

  1. Use a commercial descaling solution specifically designed for coffee machines. Follow the instructions on the descaling solution packaging carefully.
  2. Fill the water tank with the descaling solution mixed with water as per the solution's instructions.
  3. Place a large container under the portafilter and steam wand.
  4. Run half of the solution through the coffee outlet by pressing the Double Shot button.
  5. Run the remaining half of the solution through the steam wand.
  6. After descaling, rinse the water tank thoroughly and fill it with fresh water. Run several full tanks of fresh water through both the coffee outlet and steam wand to rinse out any descaling solution residue.
