2. What's in the Box

3. Setup and Installation

The Fitcamx dash cam is designed for a simple plug-and-play installation. Follow these steps for proper setup:

1. Remove the Back Cover: Gently use the provided plastic pry tool to remove the original rear-view mirror cover.
2. Disconnect Original Cable: Carefully disconnect the original power cable from the rain sensor plug.
3. Connect Y-Cable: Connect the Fitcamx Y-cable to the rain sensor plug.
4. Install the Dash Cam: Align the dash cam unit with the mounting area and securely snap it into place.
5. Replace Back Cover: Reinstall the original rear-view mirror cover, ensuring all clips are properly engaged.
6. Verify Installation: Confirm the dash cam is securely mounted and powered on.

4. Operating Instructions

Automatic Operation:

The Fitcamx dash cam is designed for automatic operation. It will automatically turn on and off with your car engine. You do not need to manually power it on or off each time you start or stop your vehicle.

Loop Recording:

The camera continuously records video. When the MicroSD card storage is full, the dash cam will automatically overwrite the oldest unlocked footage with new content. This ensures continuous recording without manual intervention.

G-Sensor (Emergency Recording):

The built-in G-Sensor detects sudden impacts or collisions. In the event of a significant shake or collision, the G-Sensor will automatically lock the current video footage, preventing it from being overwritten by loop recording. This ensures critical incident footage is preserved.

Night Vision:

Equipped with WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) technology, the dash cam automatically adjusts exposure to provide clear night vision. This allows for better visibility of details like license plates and road signs in low-light conditions.

5. App Usage (Fitcamx APP)

The Fitcamx dash cam features built-in WiFi, allowing you to connect to it via the dedicated Fitcamx mobile application. This app provides convenient access to your recordings and camera settings.

Connecting to the App:

1. Download the "Fitcamx" app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
2. Ensure your car engine is running to power the dash cam.
3. On your smartphone, go to WiFi settings and connect to the Fitcamx dash cam's WiFi network. (The network name and password can usually be found in the camera's settings or manual).
4. Open the Fitcamx app. You should now be able to view live footage, access recorded videos, and adjust camera settings.

Note: You do not need to keep the WiFi connected to the camera all the time for it to record. The camera records automatically after the car starts. Connecting to the app for viewing or downloading will not affect the use of CarPlay or Bluetooth.

6. Maintenance

• SD Card Maintenance: It is recommended to format the MicroSD card regularly (e.g., once a month) through the Fitcamx app to ensure optimal performance and prevent data corruption.
• Lens Cleaning: Gently wipe the camera lens with a soft, lint-free cloth to remove dust or smudges that may affect video quality.
• Temperature Considerations: The dash cam is designed to operate within a temperature range of -20°C to 85°C (-4°F to 185°F). While normal operation may cause the device to warm up, this is expected. Avoid prolonged exposure to extreme temperatures outside this range.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Do I need to turn on the dash cam every time? Is the WiFi needed to start recording?

A: No. The dash cam will automatically turn on/off with your car engine. You don't need to connect with WiFi manually after the first use; the dash cam will automatically start recording when the car is started.

Q: Can I view the video after turning off the car?

A: Please download the video to your phone in advance before the engine is off. The built-in WiFi is connected for a limited distance and will not be active when the car is off.

Q: What if the phone can't connect with WiFi? Is the APP safe and stable to use?

A: The WiFi can only be connected when the engine is on and the dash cam is working. If you cannot connect, ensure the dash cam is powered on. The app is designed for stable use. If issues persist, contact support with screenshots of your WiFi and app page.

Q: Why doesn't my car have parking monitoring? Can I upgrade to this function?

A: This function depends on whether your car's power plug can supply electricity continuously, which is determined by the car manufacturer. If continuous power is available, parking mode will function. Otherwise, it will not. (Note: Parking mode does not record continuously 24/7; the dash cam will only start recording in case of a serious collision.)

Q: Why does the dash cam get hot?

A: It is normal for the Fitcamx dash camera to get warm. It can work normally at -20°C to 85°C (-4°F-185°F). The confined space around the camera and proximity to other original car parts, along with direct sunlight on the windshield, can cause high temperatures. This is within normal operating parameters.

Q: I have the 4K single front version, can I add a rear camera separately?

A: No, you cannot. The single camera and dual camera versions have different PCB boards. You would need to replace the entire set if you wish to upgrade to a different video resolution or add a rear camera.
