1. Important Safety Information

3. Setup and Assembly

The Chipolino Smarty 2-in-1 comes partially assembled. Follow these steps for initial setup and conversion between modes.

3.1 Initial Assembly (Tricycle Mode)

1. Unpack all components from the box. Ensure all parts are present according to the packing list (not provided, but assume standard parts like frame, handlebar, seat, wheels, pedals).
2. Attach the handlebar to the main frame. Ensure it clicks securely into place.
3. If not already attached, secure the seat to the frame.
4. Ensure the rear wheels are in the wide tricycle position.
5. Attach the pedals to the front wheel by pressing them into the designated slots until they click.

3.2 Converting to Balance Bike Mode

To convert the product from a tricycle to a balance bike:

1. Remove Pedals: Locate the red button on the front wheel axle. Press and hold this button while pulling the pedals outwards to detach them. Store the pedals in a safe place for future use.
2. Adjust Rear Wheels: The rear wheels can be brought closer together to form a single wheel for balance bike mode. Locate the quick-release mechanism or button on the rear axle. Engage this mechanism and push the wheels inwards until they lock into the narrow position.

3.3 Adjusting Handlebar Height

The handlebar height can be adjusted to two levels to accommodate your child's height.

1. Locate the handlebar adjustment mechanism (usually a clamp or button) on the handlebar stem.
2. Loosen the clamp or press the button to release the handlebar.
3. Slide the handlebar up or down to the desired height. Ensure the minimum insertion mark is not visible.
4. Securely fasten the clamp or ensure the button clicks into place to lock the handlebar at the chosen height.

4.2 Balance Bike Mode

• Ensure pedals are removed and the rear wheels are in the narrow balance bike position.
• Adjust the seat height so your child can comfortably place both feet flat on the ground.
• Encourage your child to walk or run while sitting on the seat, pushing off the ground with their feet.
• As they gain confidence, they will naturally lift their feet and glide, developing their balance.
• Emphasize looking forward and steering with the handlebar.
