Setup Guide
Follow these steps to set up your Petivity Smart Litter Box Monitor:
- INSTALL THE APP: Before powering on your monitor, download the Petivity mobile app. This app is crucial for guiding you through the setup process. The free Petivity app is available for Android 10 or higher and iPhone running iOS14 or higher.
- PREPARE FOR SET-UP: Ensure that your phone is connected to your home WiFi network and Bluetooth is enabled. Have your home WiFi password readily available.
- CHOOSE A POWER SOURCE: You have two options for powering your monitor: the power cord or batteries (provided). Use whichever is most convenient for the monitor's location. Do not use both power sources simultaneously. If your cat tends to chew cords, using batteries is recommended.
- If using power cord: Locate the USB port on the bottom of your monitor. Plug in the power cord and route it through one of the provided channels.
- If using batteries: Find the battery cover on the bottom of your monitor. Remove the cover, insert the batteries, and then replace the cover. Note that using rechargeable batteries may affect the accuracy of the battery life indicator in the app. If you choose rechargeable batteries, use 1.2V or 1.5V AA.
- SET UP YOUR MONITOR AND CAT PROFILE IN THE APP: Open the Petivity app and follow the on-screen instructions to complete your monitor setup and create profiles for your cat(s). After the monitor connects to WiFi for the first time, it will automatically check for software updates. If an update is available, it will download automatically (this may take 2-3 minutes). Keep the monitor powered on during the update and do not press the status button. Once successfully set up, place your litter box on top of the monitor. The monitor will begin collecting data as soon as your cat uses the litter box.
