3. Safety Information

WARNING: Failure to follow these safety instructions may result in severe injury or property damage.

  • Do not short circuit the battery terminals.
  • Do not immerse the battery in water or expose to excessive moisture.
  • Do not throw the battery into fire or incinerate.
  • Do not disassemble or modify the battery.
  • Do not heat the battery above 60°C (140°F).
  • Use only the dedicated charger provided by NewtiPower.
  • Ensure proper ventilation during charging and operation.
  • Keep out of reach of children.

4. Setup and Installation

Proper installation is crucial for the performance and safety of your NewtiPower LiFePO4 battery. Follow these steps carefully.

4.1 Preparing for Installation

  1. Ensure the golf cart is turned off and the ignition key is removed.
  2. Disconnect all existing batteries, starting with the negative (-) terminals first, then the positive (+) terminals.
  3. Remove old batteries from the battery compartment. Clean the compartment thoroughly.
  4. Verify the dimensions of the NewtiPower battery (10.6"D x 19"W x 8.7"H) against your golf cart's battery compartment to ensure a proper fit.

4.2 Battery Placement and Securing

  1. Carefully place the NewtiPower LiFePO4 battery into the cleaned battery compartment.
  2. Use the provided straps to securely fasten the battery in place. Ensure the straps are tight to prevent movement during operation.

4.3 Wiring Connections

  1. Connect the main positive (+) cable from the golf cart to the positive terminal of the battery.
  2. Connect the main negative (-) cable from the golf cart to the negative terminal of the battery.
  3. Ensure all connections are tight and secure. Use the provided terminal covers to protect the terminals from accidental short circuits.
  4. If installing multiple batteries in parallel for increased capacity, ensure all batteries are at a similar state of charge before connecting. Connect positive to positive and negative to negative terminals.

Note: The cables and wires should be stacked largest to smallest, with the largest cable towards the battery terminal.

4.4 Charger Installation

  1. Mount the dedicated charger in a suitable, well-ventilated location, typically near the battery compartment.
  2. Connect the charger's DC output cable to the battery's charging port.
  3. Connect the charger's AC input cable to a standard wall outlet for charging.

4.5 LCD Monitor and APP Setup

  1. Install the Smart Battery LCD monitor in a convenient location on your golf cart's dashboard using the provided bracket.
  2. Connect the communication cable from the battery to the LCD monitor.
  3. Download the NewtiPower APP from your smartphone's app store. Follow the in-app instructions to connect to your battery via Bluetooth for real-time monitoring.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Initial Charge

Before first use, fully charge the battery using the provided charger until the LCD monitor or APP indicates 100% charge.

5.2 Regular Operation

  • Monitor battery status regularly using the LCD screen or APP.
  • Avoid deep discharges. While the BMS protects against over-discharge, maintaining a higher state of charge prolongs battery life.
  • The battery is designed for optimal performance in various conditions, including low temperatures with built-in protection.

6. Maintenance
