Important Safety Information

To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury, always follow basic safety precautions when using electrical appliances. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Read all instructions before use.
  • Use the steamer only for its intended purpose as described in this manual.
  • To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not immerse the steamer, power cord, or plug in water or other liquids.
  • Always unplug the steamer from the electrical outlet when filling with water, emptying, or when not in use.
  • Do not operate the steamer with a damaged cord or plug, or if the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.
  • Keep the steamer and its cord out of reach of children.
  • Never direct steam at people, pets, or electrical appliances. Steam is hot and can cause burns.
  • Use only distilled or de-mineralized water to prevent mineral buildup and prolong the life of the steamer.
  • Do not overfill the water tank.
  • Always hold the steamer upright during use. Tilting the steamer too much can cause hot water to spill.

Operating Instructions

Once the steamer is ready, follow these guidelines for effective steaming:

  1. Prepare Garment: Hang the garment on a hanger. For best results, gently pull the fabric taut with one hand while steaming with the other.
  2. Steaming Technique: Hold the steamer upright, ensuring the steam plate is facing away from you. Position the steam plate approximately 1/2 inch from the fabric. Move the steamer slowly and steadily over the wrinkled areas, from top to bottom.

Maintenance

Proper care will ensure the longevity of your steamer:

  • Empty Water Tank: After each use, ensure the steamer is unplugged and cool. Empty any remaining water from the tank to prevent mineral buildup.
  • Cleaning Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the steamer with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Descaling (if necessary): If you notice reduced steam output or mineral residue, a descaling process may be needed. Consult the manufacturer's website or customer support for specific descaling instructions, as this can vary by model. Using distilled water regularly will minimize the need for descaling.
  • Storage: Store the steamer in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Ensure the cord is not tightly wrapped around the unit.
