4. Setup

4.1 Main Unit Power-Up

  1. Insert the provided batteries into the main unit, observing polarity.
  2. Alternatively, connect the power cord to the DC 5V port on the back of the unit and plug it into a power outlet.
  3. The display will light up, and the unit will begin searching for remote sensors and the radio-controlled time signal.

4.2 Remote Sensor Setup

  1. Open the battery compartment on each remote sensor.
  2. Insert the provided batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
  3. Select a unique channel (1, 2, or 3) for each sensor using the channel switch inside the battery compartment. This is crucial for the main unit to distinguish between sensors.
  4. Close the battery compartment.
  5. Place the sensors in your desired monitoring locations (e.g., child's room, wine cellar, outdoors). Ensure they are within range of the main unit and protected from direct weather elements if placed outdoors.

4.3 Sensor Pairing and Time Synchronization

The main unit will automatically attempt to pair with the remote sensors and synchronize the radio-controlled clock upon initial power-up. If pairing does not occur automatically, or if you add new sensors:

  • Press and hold the CH button on the main unit to initiate a manual search for sensors.
  • For time synchronization, ensure the main unit is placed in an area with good reception for the radio signal. The clock will typically synchronize within 24 hours. If manual adjustment is needed, refer to section 5.2.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Display Overview

The color display is divided into several sections:

  • Top Left: Indoor temperature and humidity.
  • Top Right: Time, radio-controlled signal indicator, 12-hour weather forecast icons, and atmospheric pressure.
  • Bottom Section (1, 2, 3): Displays temperature and humidity for each of the three remote sensors.

5.2 Button Functions

The buttons on the back of the main unit control various settings:

  • SET: Enter settings mode for time, date, and other parameters. Press to confirm selections.
  • CH (Channel): Cycle through remote sensor displays (if not all are shown simultaneously) or initiate a manual sensor search (press and hold).
  • MEM (Memory): View minimum and maximum temperature/humidity records. Press again to clear records.
  • ▲ (Up): Increase values during settings, or adjust backlight brightness.
  • ▼ (Down): Decrease values during settings, or adjust backlight brightness.
  • ALARM: Activate/deactivate the alarm, or enter alarm setting mode (press and hold).

5.3 Adjusting Backlight Brightness

Press the ▲ (Up) or ▼ (Down) buttons outside of settings mode to cycle through the three available backlight brightness levels.

5.4 Setting the Alarm

  1. Press and hold the ALARM button until the alarm time digits flash.
  2. Use the ▲ (Up) or ▼ (Down) buttons to adjust the hour. Press ALARM to confirm.
  3. Repeat for minutes. Press ALARM to confirm and exit alarm setting mode.
  4. Press the ALARM button briefly to toggle the alarm on or off. An alarm icon will appear on the display when active.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the main unit and sensors with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse in water.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries in the main unit and sensors when the low battery indicator appears on the display. Ensure to use the correct battery type and observe polarity.
  • Sensor Placement: Periodically check the placement of remote sensors to ensure they are protected from direct sunlight and rain, which can affect accuracy and lifespan.

7. Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
No display on main unit No power; batteries depleted or incorrectly inserted; power cord disconnected. Check batteries and polarity. Ensure power cord is securely connected.
Remote sensor data not displayed Sensor batteries depleted; sensor out of range; incorrect channel selected; interference. Replace sensor batteries. Move sensor closer to the main unit. Ensure each sensor has a unique channel (1, 2, or 3). Press and hold CH button on main unit to re-scan.
Inaccurate temperature/humidity readings Sensor exposed to direct sunlight/rain; sensor too close to heat/cold source; unit calibration needed (not user adjustable). Relocate sensor to a shaded, well-ventilated area. Allow time for readings to stabilize. Note that minor variations between sensors are possible.
Radio-controlled clock not synchronizing Weak signal; interference; unit not in range of signal. Move the main unit to a window or an area with better reception. Allow up to 24 hours for synchronization. Manual time setting is available if automatic sync fails repeatedly.
Display backlight turns off too quickly Unit is in battery-saving mode. This is normal behavior for battery-powered operation. If using the power cord, the backlight should remain on.
