3. Wall Mounting Instructions

This safe is designed to be recessed into a wall between standard 16-inch on-center wall studs. Professional installation is recommended.

  1. Choose Location: Select a suitable location between two wall studs. Ensure there are no electrical wires, plumbing, or other obstructions within the wall cavity.
  2. Measure and Cut: Carefully measure the dimensions of the safe's body (excluding the front flange) and mark the opening on the wall. Cut the drywall or other wall material to create the opening.
  3. Insert Safe: Gently slide the safe into the prepared wall opening. The front flange of the safe should sit flush against the wall surface.
  4. Secure Safe: Use the provided steel screws (or stronger lag bolts, if preferred) to secure the safe to the wall studs through the pre-drilled holes inside the safe. Ensure the safe is level and firmly attached.
  5. Concealment: For optimal security, consider concealing the safe behind a picture, mirror, or piece of furniture.

  2. Remove the cover to expose the keyhole.

3. Changing PIN Code

Follow these steps to change your PIN code:

  1. Open the safe door.
  2. Press the red reset button on the inside of the door.
  3. Enter your new 3-8 digit PIN code on the keypad.
  4. Press the "A" or "B" button to confirm.

4. Time-Out Period

If three incorrect PIN codes are entered consecutively, the safe will enter a time-out period. During this period, the keypad will be temporarily disabled, and you will not be able to enter any codes. This feature enhances security by preventing brute-force attempts to guess the code. Wait for the time-out period to expire before attempting to enter the correct code again or use the emergency key.

Maintenance

1. Battery Replacement

When the batteries are low, the red indicator light on the keypad may flash or remain lit after entering a code. Replace all four AA batteries promptly to ensure proper operation and avoid being locked out.

  1. Open the safe door using the current PIN code or an emergency key.
  2. Open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Remove the old batteries and dispose of them responsibly.
  4. Insert four new AA (1.5V) alkaline batteries, observing correct polarity.
  5. Close the battery compartment cover.
  6. Test the safe operation with the new batteries.

2. Cleaning

Clean the exterior of the safe with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the finish or electronic components. Ensure no moisture enters the keypad or locking mechanism.

Troubleshooting

  • Safe does not open with PIN code:
    • Ensure batteries are not depleted. Replace if necessary.
    • Verify you are entering the correct PIN code.
    • Check if the safe is in a time-out period after multiple incorrect attempts. Wait for it to reset.
    • Use the emergency key to open the safe.
  • Keypad is unresponsive:
    • Check battery levels and replace if low.
    • Ensure no debris is obstructing the buttons.
    • If still unresponsive, use the emergency key to open and check internal connections or reset the system by removing and reinserting batteries.
  • Safe door does not close properly:
    • Ensure no items inside the safe are obstructing the door or locking bolts.
    • Check if the locking bolts are fully retracted before attempting to close.
