Setup

1. Proper Helmet Fit

Ensure the helmet fits snugly around your head without causing pressure points. The helmet should not move freely when you shake your head. The K1 S features a fit designed to accommodate glasses comfortably.

2. Double D Retention System

The helmet is equipped with a Double D retention system for a secure closure. To fasten, thread the strap through both D-rings, then back through the first D-ring. Pull the strap tight until the helmet is securely fastened under your chin. Ensure there is no slack and the strap is not twisted.

3. Visor Installation and Removal

The K1 S features an Extra Quick Release System (XQRS) for easy visor changes. Refer to the markings on the visor mechanism for specific instructions on how to detach and reattach the visor. Always ensure the visor is securely locked in place before riding.

4. Pinlock System (Optional)

The visor is Max Pinlock ready. A Pinlock insert (sold separately) can be installed to prevent fogging. Follow the instructions provided with the Pinlock insert for proper installation.

5. Communication System Integration

The helmet is designed to be ready for generic communication systems. Consult your communication system's manual for installation instructions, utilizing the helmet's internal space for speakers and wiring.

Operating

1. Ventilation System

The K1 S helmet features adjustable air vents: 5 front vents and 2 rear extractors. These can be opened or closed to control airflow and maintain comfort. The integrated spoiler also contributes to aerodynamic stability and airflow management.

2. Visor Operation

The visor offers a 90-degree horizontal field of view for enhanced visibility. It includes a multistep mechanism allowing you to adjust its position. A small-opening system is also present, which can be used to slightly crack the visor seal to prevent fogging, especially in colder conditions.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning the Exterior Shell

Clean the thermoplastic shell with a soft cloth and mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the helmet's finish and materials. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft, clean cloth.

2. Cleaning the Visor

The anti-scratch visor should be cleaned with a soft cloth and lukewarm water. For stubborn dirt, use a specialized helmet visor cleaner. Do not use abrasive materials or harsh chemicals. The visor also provides UV protection.

3. Cleaning the Interior

The helmet's interiors are removable and washable. Carefully detach the cheek pads, crown pad, nose guard, and wind protector. Hand wash them with mild soap and water, then air dry completely before reinserting them into the helmet. Ensure all components are dry to prevent mildew or odor.

4. Retention System Inspection

Regularly inspect the Double D retention system for any signs of wear, fraying, or damage. Ensure the D-rings are not bent or corroded. Replace the helmet if the retention system is compromised.

Troubleshooting

1. Visor Fogging

If the visor fogs up, utilize the small-opening system to create a slight gap for airflow. For persistent fogging, consider installing a Pinlock anti-fog insert (if not already present).

2. Excessive Wind Noise

Ensure the visor is fully closed and sealed. Check that all vents are properly adjusted. Excessive wind noise can sometimes indicate an improper fit; verify your helmet size and fitment.

3. Discomfort or Pressure Points

If you experience discomfort, re-evaluate the helmet's fit. While the K1 S is designed for comfort, individual head shapes vary. Ensure the interior padding is correctly seated. If discomfort persists, consult a professional for fit assessment.
