4. Setup and Fitting
4.1. Proper Helmet Fit
A helmet should fit snugly around your head without causing pressure points. To check the fit:
- Place the helmet on your head. It should feel tight but comfortable.
- Fasten the retention system securely.
- Try to move the helmet from side to side and up and down. Your skin should move with the helmet. If the helmet slides independently, it is too large.
- Ensure your field of vision is not obstructed.
4.2. Retention System (Micrometric Buckle)
To fasten the micrometric buckle:
- Insert the ribbed strap into the buckle until it clicks securely.
- Pull the strap to ensure it is tight under your chin, allowing only two fingers to fit comfortably between the strap and your chin.
To release the buckle, lift the red lever and pull the ribbed strap out.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Visor Operation
The clear main visor features a multistep mechanism, allowing it to be opened to various positions. It also includes a Small-Opening system for slight ventilation.
The integrated anti-scratch sun visor can be deployed or retracted using the lever located on the side of the helmet. This sun visor is removable without tools for cleaning or replacement.
The Extra Quick Release System (XQRS) allows for fast and easy removal and installation of the main visor without the need for tools.
5.2. Ventilation System
The helmet is equipped with adjustable front air vents and a rear extractor. Open the front vents to allow fresh air intake and the rear extractor to facilitate hot air exhaust. Adjust these vents according to riding conditions and personal comfort.
6. Maintenance and Care
6.1. Cleaning the Shell
Clean the helmet shell with a soft cloth and mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the helmet's finish and materials.
6.2. Visor Cleaning
Clean the visor with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap. For stubborn dirt, soak the visor in lukewarm water before gently wiping. Do not use abrasive materials or chemical cleaners on the visor, especially on the anti-scratch or Pinlock surfaces.
6.3. Interior Cleaning
The helmet's interior padding is removable and washable. Hand wash the padding with mild soap and lukewarm water. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry completely before reinserting into the helmet. Do not machine wash or tumble dry.
6.4. Storage
Store your helmet in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Use a helmet bag to protect it from dust and scratches.
7. Troubleshooting
- Visor Fogging: Ensure the Pinlock lens is properly installed. If fogging persists, slightly open the visor using the Small-Opening system or activate the ventilation system.
- Loose Fit: If the helmet feels loose after extended use, check the retention system. If the helmet is still too loose, it may be the wrong size and should be replaced with a smaller size for proper protection.
- Excessive Noise: Ensure all vents are closed if noise is an issue. Check that the visor is fully closed and sealed.
