Product Overview

This document provides instructions for the Generic Infrared (IR) Replacement Remote Control, designed for use with various Cool Living Portable Room Air Conditioner models. This remote serves as a direct replacement for your original unit, offering essential control functions.

Please note that while this remote is a functional replacement, it may not possess every single function identical to your original remote. Refer to the images provided to ensure visual compatibility with your existing remote.

Setup and Battery Installation

Before using the remote control, you must install the required batteries. This remote requires one (1) AAA battery.

1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the remote control.
2. Gently slide the battery compartment cover downwards or outwards to open it.
3. Insert one (1) AAA battery, ensuring the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals align correctly with the markings inside the compartment.
4. Slide the battery compartment cover back into place until it clicks securely.

Important: Ensure the battery is inserted with the correct polarity. Incorrect insertion can prevent the remote from functioning.

Operating Instructions

Point the remote control directly at the infrared receiver on your Cool Living Portable Room Air Conditioner. Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the air conditioner.

Button Functions:

• ON/OFF: Powers the air conditioner on or off.
• COOL: Activates the cooling mode.
• DRY: Activates the dehumidifying mode.
• FAN: Activates the fan-only mode.
• H-FAN (High Fan): Sets the fan speed to high.
• M-FAN (Medium Fan): Sets the fan speed to medium.
• L-FAN (Low Fan): Sets the fan speed to low.
• + / - (Temperature Adjustment): Increases or decreases the desired temperature setting. Note: This remote displays temperature in Celsius only.
• TIMER: Used to set the timer function for automatic on/off operations (refer to your air conditioner's manual for specific timer programming).
• FILTER RESET: Resets the filter indicator light on the air conditioner after cleaning or replacing the air filter.
• ENERGY SAVER: Activates or deactivates the energy-saving mode on the air conditioner.

Maintenance

Battery Replacement:

If the remote control's range decreases or it stops responding, the battery may need to be replaced. Follow the battery installation steps outlined in the "Setup and Battery Installation" section to replace the AAA battery.

Cleaning:

To clean the remote control, wipe it gently with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners, abrasive cleaners, or chemical solvents, as these can damage the remote's surface or internal components.

Troubleshooting

• Remote not responding:
  • Check if the battery is inserted correctly with the correct polarity.

  • Confirm that the remote is pointed directly at the air conditioner.
• Some functions not working:
  • This is a replacement remote; some advanced or specific functions of your original air conditioner remote may not be supported.
  • Verify that your air conditioner model is listed as compatible. If your model number is not listed, contact the seller for assistance.
• Temperature display is in Celsius only:
  • This remote is designed to display temperature in Celsius only. There is no option to switch to Fahrenheit.
