Figure 3.1: This image illustrates the drone's battery compartment and highlights the GPS Altitude Hold feature, showing the drone hovering stably with a control range of up to 500 meters and a flight altitude of 200 meters. The battery is a 3000mAh smart button module.
- Charge the Flight Battery: Connect the flight battery to the provided USB charging cable and plug it into a suitable USB power adapter (not included). The charging indicator will show the charging status. A full charge typically takes approximately 7 hours.
- Install the Flight Battery: Ensure the drone is powered off. Insert the fully charged battery into the battery compartment on the rear of the drone until it clicks securely into place.
- Charge the Remote Controller: If your remote controller uses a rechargeable battery, charge it using its dedicated charging port and cable. If it uses disposable batteries, install fresh ones according to the polarity markings.
3.2 Propeller Installation
The propellers are designed for easy installation and replacement. Ensure you match the correct propellers to their respective motor arms (usually marked A and B). Use the provided screwdriver to secure them if necessary.
3.3 Drone and Remote Controller Pairing
- Place the drone on a flat, level surface.
- Power on the drone. The indicator lights will flash.
- Power on the remote controller.
- Perform the pairing sequence as described in the quick start guide (typically moving the left joystick up then down, or a specific button press). The drone's lights will become solid once paired.
3.4 App Installation and Connection

Figure 3.2: This image shows the WLTOYS Q868 remote controller with a smartphone mounted, displaying the drone's FPV feed. It highlights the 500m transmission distance and 200m flight altitude, along with features like built-in Wi-Fi hotspot and a dedicated app for control.
- Download the dedicated WLTOYS Q868 app from your smartphone's app store (iOS or Android).
- Power on the drone.
- On your smartphone, connect to the drone's 5G WiFi network (usually named "WLTOYS-Q868-XXXX").
- Open the app. The live FPV feed from the drone's camera should appear, indicating a successful connection.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Pre-Flight Checklist
- Ensure batteries are fully charged (drone and remote controller).
- Propellers are correctly installed and secure.
- Drone arms are unfolded and locked.
- Fly in an open area, away from obstacles, people, and electromagnetic interference.
- Check weather conditions (avoid strong winds or rain).
- GPS signal is acquired (drone lights indicate GPS lock).
4.2 Take-off and Landing
- Unlock Motors: Perform the motor unlock sequence (refer to remote controller diagram in the quick start guide, typically pushing joysticks inwards and downwards).
- One-Key Take-off: Press the one-key take-off button on the remote controller or in the app. The drone will automatically ascend to a safe altitude and hover.
- Manual Take-off: Slowly push the left joystick (throttle) upwards to ascend.
- Landing: Press the one-key landing button, and the drone will descend and land automatically. Alternatively, slowly pull the left joystick downwards to land manually.
4.3 Flight Modes
- GPS Mode: Utilizes GPS for precise positioning and stable hovering. Recommended for outdoor flight.
- Altitude Hold Mode: Maintains a consistent altitude using a barometer.
- Headless Mode: The drone's orientation is relative to the pilot, simplifying control regardless of the drone's front direction.
4.4 Camera Operation

Figure 4.3: This image illustrates the drone's intelligent GPS flight path creation features, including "Fly Around the Point" (360-degree orbit), "Follow the Point" (tracking a subject), and "Multi-Mission Flight" (waypoint navigation).
- GPS Return Home: The drone will automatically return to its take-off point if the signal is lost, battery is low, or the RTH button is pressed.
- Waypoint Planning: Set a series of points on the map within the app, and the drone will fly along the designated path.
- Follow Me: The drone will automatically follow the remote controller or smartphone, keeping the subject in frame.
- POI (Point of Interest) Surround: Select a point on the map, and the drone will orbit around it at a set radius and altitude.
5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
Regularly clean the drone's body, motors, and camera lens with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or solvents.
5.2 Battery Care
- Store batteries in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
- Do not overcharge or over-discharge batteries.
- If storing for extended periods, charge batteries to approximately 50-60% capacity.
- Replace damaged or swollen batteries immediately.
5.3 Propeller Replacement
Inspect propellers before each flight for cracks or damage. Replace any damaged propellers with new ones, ensuring correct orientation (A and B types).
