1. Introduction

This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient use of your SAMSUNG 34-inch ViewFinity S50GC Series Ultrawide QHD Monitor. Please read these instructions thoroughly before operating the device and retain them for future reference.

The SAMSUNG ViewFinity S50GC monitor features a 34-inch Ultrawide QHD (3440x1440) display, a 100Hz refresh rate, 5ms response time, HDR10 support, and AMD FreeSync technology. It is designed to enhance productivity and provide a clear viewing experience.

2. Setup

2.1 Unpacking and Contents

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Ensure all items listed below are present:

  • SAMSUNG 34-inch ViewFinity S50GC Monitor
  • Monitor Stand (Base and Neck)
  • Power Cable
  • HDMI Cable
  • Quick Setup Guide

2.2 Stand Assembly

  1. Place the monitor face down on a soft, clean cloth to prevent scratches.
  2. Attach the stand neck to the monitor's rear panel. Secure it with the provided screws.
  3. Attach the stand base to the bottom of the stand neck. Tighten the thumb screw or use a screwdriver as required.
  4. Carefully lift the monitor and place it on a stable, flat surface.

2.3 VESA Wall Mount Installation (Optional)

The monitor supports VESA mount standard for wall or desk arm installation. The VESA mount pattern is 100x100mm. Remove the stand neck if it is already attached before installing a VESA mount.

2.4 Connecting to a Computer

The monitor provides HDMI and DisplayPort inputs. Connect the appropriate cable from your computer's graphics card to the corresponding port on the monitor.

  • HDMI Connection: Use the provided HDMI cable to connect your computer to either HDMI IN 1 or HDMI IN 2 port on the monitor.
  • DisplayPort Connection: Use a DisplayPort cable (not included) to connect your computer to the DP IN port on the monitor.

2.5 Power Connection

Connect the power cable to the DC 19V port on the monitor and then plug the other end into a power outlet.

3. Operating the Monitor

3.1 Power On/Off

Press the power button, typically located on the bottom center or rear of the monitor, to turn the monitor on or off.

3.2 On-Screen Display (OSD) Menu Navigation

The OSD menu allows you to adjust various monitor settings. Use the joystick button, usually located on the rear of the monitor, to navigate the menu:

3.4 Refresh Rate and AMD FreeSync

The monitor operates at a 100Hz refresh rate, providing smoother motion compared to standard 60Hz displays. It also supports AMD FreeSync, which synchronizes the monitor's refresh rate with your graphics card's frame rate to reduce screen tearing and stuttering.

  • To enable FreeSync, ensure your graphics card supports AMD FreeSync and activate it in your graphics card's control panel.
  • Verify FreeSync status in the monitor's OSD menu.

3.5 Eye Care Features

3.6 Multitasking Features (PIP/PBP)

The monitor supports Picture-in-Picture (PIP) and Picture-by-Picture (PBP) modes to display content from multiple sources simultaneously.

  • PBP (Picture-by-Picture): Displays input from two sources side-by-side at their native resolutions. This is useful for viewing two distinct workspaces.
  • PIP (Picture-in-Picture): Displays a secondary input source in a smaller window overlaid on the main display. The size and position of the PIP window can be adjusted.
