Introduction
Welcome to the user manual for your Nokta Simplex Lite Metal Detector. This guide provides essential information for assembling, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting your device to ensure optimal performance and a rewarding metal detecting experience.

Setup and Assembly
Unpacking
Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Verify that all parts listed in the packing list are present.
Assembling the Detector
- Attach the search coil to the lower shaft using the provided bolt and nut. Ensure it is securely fastened but not overtightened.
- Connect the lower shaft to the middle shaft, and then connect the middle shaft to the upper shaft (control unit).
- Wrap the search coil cable neatly around the shaft, securing it with the integrated cable clips.
- Plug the search coil connector into the corresponding port on the control unit. Ensure the connection is firm and waterproof.
- Adjust the shaft length to a comfortable height for your stature. The detector should allow you to swing the coil parallel to the ground without bending excessively.

Battery Charging
The Nokta Simplex Lite Metal Detector is powered by a rechargeable Lithium Polymer battery. Before first use, fully charge the battery.
To charge, connect the USB charging cable to the charging port on the control unit and plug the other end into a USB power adapter or power bank.

Operating Instructions
Powering On/Off
Press and hold the Power button (usually marked with a power symbol) on the control unit to turn the detector on or off.
Control Panel Overview
The control unit features an LCD display and several buttons for navigation and settings adjustment.

Search Modes
The Simplex Lite offers various search modes optimized for different environments. Common modes include:
- Field Mode: General purpose mode for various terrains.
- Park Mode: Designed for areas with high trash content, like parks.
- Beach Mode: Optimized for wet sand and saltwater conditions.
Use the Mode button to cycle through available search modes.
Ground Balance
Proper ground balancing is crucial for stable operation and accurate target identification. The Simplex Lite features automatic and manual ground balance options. Refer to the on-screen prompts for specific instructions.
Sensitivity Adjustment
Adjust sensitivity to maximize depth while maintaining stable operation. High sensitivity can lead to false signals in mineralized ground.
Target Identification (ID)
The detector provides a Target ID number on the display, which helps in identifying the probable type of metal detected. Higher numbers generally indicate more conductive metals.
Pinpointing
To pinpoint a target, move the coil slowly over the target area. The audio tone will peak, and the target ID will stabilize when the coil is directly over the object.

Maintenance and Care
Cleaning
After each use, especially in wet or sandy conditions, wipe down the detector with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
Storage
Store the detector in a cool, dry place. If storing for an extended period, ensure the battery is partially charged (around 50%) to prolong its lifespan.
Waterproofing
The Simplex Lite is waterproof up to 5 meters (16 feet). Ensure all connections are secure before submerging the device.
Troubleshooting
No Power
- Check battery charge level. Recharge if necessary.
- Ensure the power button is pressed and held for the required duration.
Erratic Signals / False Signals
- Reduce sensitivity.
- Perform a ground balance.
- Move away from sources of electromagnetic interference (power lines, other electronics).
- Check for loose coil cable connections.
No Target ID
- Ensure the coil is sweeping parallel to the ground.
- The target might be too deep or too small for accurate ID.
- Check if the detector is in a mode that provides target ID.
