4. Installation Guide

The Aysiofdy Safety Bollard Posts are designed for straightforward surface-mount installation on concrete or asphalt surfaces. Follow these steps for secure placement:

Required Tools (Not Included):

  • Drill with appropriate masonry bit (matching anchor bolt diameter)
  • Hammer
  • Wrench or socket set (matching anchor bolt head)
  • Measuring tape
  • Marker or chalk
  • Safety glasses and gloves

Installation Steps:

  1. Step 1: Marking the Location

Position the bollard base plate at the desired installation spot. Use a marker or chalk to mark the precise locations for drilling through the pre-drilled holes on the base plate. Ensure the bollard is aligned correctly before marking.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and effectiveness of your Aysiofdy Safety Bollard Posts. While designed for durability, periodic checks and cleaning will help preserve their condition and visibility.

  • Cleaning: Clean the bollards periodically with mild soap and water to remove dirt, grime, and road salt. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that could damage the powder coating or reflective tape.
  • Inspection: Regularly inspect the bollards for any signs of damage, such as dents, scratches, or fading of the reflective tape. Check the base plate and anchor bolts for any looseness or corrosion.
  • Reflective Tape: Ensure the black and yellow reflective tape remains clean and intact for maximum visibility, especially during low-light conditions. Replace if significantly damaged or faded.
  • Anchor Bolts: Periodically re-tighten anchor bolts if they appear loose. If a bolt is damaged or corroded, replace it promptly to maintain stability.
  • Repairs: For significant damage to the steel or coating, consider professional repair or replacement to maintain the bollard's protective qualities and appearance.

7. Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your safety bollard posts.

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Bollard is wobbly or loose after installation.Anchor bolts are not sufficiently tightened or are damaged. Incorrect drill hole size.Ensure all anchor bolts are tightened securely. If bolts are stripped or damaged, replace them. Verify drill bit size matches anchor bolt specifications for proper expansion.
Reflective tape is peeling or faded.Exposure to harsh weather, prolonged UV, or physical abrasion.Clean the surface and apply new high-quality reflective tape. Ensure the new tape is weather-resistant.
Bollard shows signs of rust or corrosion.Damage to the powder coating exposing the steel.Clean the rusted area, sand lightly to remove rust, prime, and apply a rust-inhibiting paint or touch-up paint matching the original color. For severe corrosion, consider replacement.
Difficulty drilling into the surface.Incorrect drill bit type (e.g., not a masonry bit for concrete). Insufficient drill power.Ensure you are using a high-quality masonry drill bit for concrete or asphalt. Use a hammer drill for best results on hard surfaces.
