Setup

1. Attaching the F38 Quick Release Plate to Your Camera

The F38 Quick Release Plate provides a secure and fast connection for your camera. Locate the 1/4" screw on the F38 plate and align it with the tripod mount on the bottom of your camera. Rotate the screw clockwise until the plate is firmly attached to your camera. Ensure it is tightened securely to prevent accidental detachment.

2. Mounting the Camera to the Tripod

With the F38 plate attached to your camera, align the plate with the receiver on the tripod's ball head. Push the plate into the receiver until you hear a click, indicating it is securely locked. To release, press the red release button on the side of the receiver and slide the camera off.

3. Deploying the Flexible Legs

The MT-68 features highly flexible legs that can be bent and wrapped around various objects for stable positioning. Gently bend each leg to achieve the desired shape and stability. The reinforced aluminum core ensures they maintain their position once set.

Operating

1. Ball Head Adjustments

The integrated ball head allows for precise camera positioning. Loosen the main locking knob to adjust the camera's angle freely. Tighten the knob to secure the camera in place. For panoramic shots, loosen the independent knob located at the base of the quick-release plate to rotate the camera 360° horizontally without affecting the ball head's tilt.

2. Detachable Ball Head

The ball head can be detached from the tripod legs. To detach, twist the ball head counter-clockwise until it separates. This allows for the use of the ball head on other compatible tripods or for the tripod legs to be used independently with other accessories.

3. Accessory Mounting Points

The tripod features multiple 1/4" screw holes on its legs and a cold shoe mount on the ball head. These allow for the attachment of various accessories such as microphones, LED lights, or external monitors, enhancing your shooting setup.

Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your ULANZI MT-68 tripod, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Wipe down the tripod with a soft, dry cloth after each use to remove dust and debris. For stubborn dirt, use a slightly damp cloth and mild soap, then dry thoroughly.
  • Storage: Store the tripod in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Inspection: Periodically check all screws and connections to ensure they are tight. Do not overtighten.
  • Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the rubber and aluminum components.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your ULANZI MT-68 tripod, consider the following common solutions:

  • Camera Instability: Ensure the F38 quick release plate is securely attached to both the camera and the tripod head. Check that the ball head locking knob is fully tightened.
  • Legs Not Holding Position: Verify that the flexible legs are bent sufficiently to create a stable base or grip. The aluminum core should hold its shape once positioned.
  • Difficulty with Quick Release: Make sure the red release button is fully depressed when attempting to attach or detach the camera.
  • Panoramic Rotation Issues: Confirm that the independent panoramic knob is loosened to allow rotation and tightened to lock the position.
