1. Important Safety Instructions

Read all safety warnings, instructions, illustrations, and specifications provided with this power tool. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious injury. Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.

  • Work Area Safety: Keep the work area clean and well-lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents. Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
  • Electrical Safety: Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.
  • Personal Safety: Stay alert, watch what you are doing, and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication. A moment of inattention while operating power tools may result in serious personal injury.
  • Power Tool Use and Care: Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed. Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or remove the battery pack, if detachable, from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools.
  • Battery Tool Use and Care: Recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer. A charger that is suitable for one type of battery pack may create a risk of fire when used with another battery pack. Use power tools only with specifically designated battery packs. Use of any other battery packs may create a risk of injury and fire.

3. Setup

3.1 Charging the Battery

TOPSHAK 2.0Ah Li-Ion battery being charged

Figure 3.1: The 2.0Ah Li-Ion battery with its charging unit, showing the indicator lights.

  1. Ensure the battery is securely inserted into the charger.
  2. Plug the charger into a standard power outlet.
  3. The battery indicator lights on the battery pack will show the charging status. A full charge is indicated when all lights are solid.
  4. Unplug the charger once charging is complete.

Note: For optimal battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery before recharging. Store the battery in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

3.2 Attaching and Removing the Battery

  • To Attach: Align the battery pack with the base of the drill handle and slide it in until it clicks securely into place.
  • To Remove: Press the battery release buttons on the sides of the battery pack and slide the battery out from the drill handle.

3.3 Installing Drill Bits and Screwdriver Bits

Figure 3.2: The drill shown with a selection of drill bits and screwdriver bits, highlighting the 1/2" all-metal chuck.

  1. Ensure the drill is switched off and the battery is removed before changing bits.
  2. Rotate the chuck counter-clockwise to open the jaws.
  3. Insert the desired drill bit or screwdriver bit into the chuck, ensuring it is centered.
  4. Rotate the chuck clockwise to tighten the jaws firmly around the bit. Hand-tighten only; do not use tools to tighten the chuck.

3.4 Using the Flexible Shaft Driver

The flexible shaft driver allows you to reach fasteners in tight or awkward spaces.

  1. Insert the hexagonal end of the flexible shaft into the drill chuck and tighten securely.
  2. Insert the desired screwdriver bit into the other end of the flexible shaft.
  3. Use the flexible shaft to access fasteners in hard-to-reach areas.

4. Operation

4.1 Powering On/Off and Variable Speed Control

Figure 4.1: Close-up of the drill's handle, illustrating the wide-range LED, forward/reverse switch, and variable speed trigger for precise control.

  • To start the drill, press the variable speed trigger. The speed increases as you press the trigger further.
  • To stop the drill, release the variable speed trigger.
  • The integrated LED work light will activate when the trigger is pressed, illuminating the work surface.

4.2 Forward/Reverse Switch

The forward/reverse switch is located above the variable speed trigger.

  • Push the switch to the left for forward rotation (tightening screws, drilling).
  • Push the switch to the right for reverse rotation (loosening screws, removing bits).
  • When the switch is in the center position, the trigger is locked, preventing accidental operation. Always engage the lock when not in use or when changing bits.

4.3 Clutch Settings and Speed Transmission

Figure 4.2: The drill's chuck area, detailing the 20+1 position clutch ring and the 2-speed transmission selector switch.

  • Clutch Ring: Rotate the numbered ring behind the chuck to select the desired torque setting (1-20) for driving screws. Use lower numbers for smaller screws and softer materials, and higher numbers for larger screws and harder materials. The drill icon setting (beyond 20) is for drilling without clutch engagement.
  • Speed Selector: Use the switch on top of the drill to select between Gear 1 (low speed, high torque for driving) and Gear 2 (high speed, low torque for drilling).

4.4 Impact Function

To activate the impact function, ensure the clutch ring is set to the drill icon (impact mode). This mode is specifically designed for drilling into masonry or concrete surfaces.
