3. Setup and Fit
3.1 Initial Fit Check
Before riding, ensure your helmet fits correctly. The helmet should feel snug around your head without causing pressure points. It should not move freely when you shake your head. The cheek pads should press firmly against your cheeks.
3.2 Securing the Double D-Ring Strap
- Thread the strap through both D-rings.
- Loop the strap back through only the first D-ring.
- Pull the strap tight against your throat. The strap should be snug but not uncomfortable.
- Secure the loose end of the strap with the snap button to prevent flapping.
3.3 Visor Installation/Removal
The SportModular features a Patented Extra Quick Release System for the visor, allowing removal and replacement in seconds without tools. Refer to the markings near the visor pivot points for specific instructions on releasing and locking the visor into place.

4. Operating Your Helmet
4.1 Chin Guard Operation
To open the chin guard, locate the release mechanism, typically a button or lever, at the front center of the chin bar. Press the mechanism and lift the chin guard upwards until it locks into the open position. To close, firmly pull the chin guard down until it clicks securely into place. Ensure it is fully latched before riding.
4.2 Ventilation System
Your helmet is equipped with adjustable front vents and a rear extractor. Slide the levers on the front vents to open or close them, controlling airflow to the forehead and chin areas. The rear extractor helps to pull warm air out of the helmet. Adjust these based on riding conditions for optimal comfort.

4.3 Integrated Sun Visor
The integrated sun visor can be deployed or retracted using a slider mechanism, usually located on the left side of the helmet. Slide it down for sun protection and up to retract it. This visor is anti-scratch and can be removed without tools for cleaning or replacement.
5. Maintenance and Care
5.1 Cleaning the Exterior Shell
Clean the carbon fiber shell with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the finish. Dry with a clean, soft cloth.
5.2 Visor and Sun Visor Cleaning
Remove the clear visor and integrated sun visor. Clean them with lukewarm water and a soft cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a helmet-specific visor cleaner. Do not use harsh chemicals. Allow to air dry completely before reinstallation.
5.3 Interior Liner Washing
All interior parts are removable and washable. Gently detach the cheek pads and crown pad. Hand wash them with mild soap and lukewarm water, or follow specific washing instructions if provided on the fabric tags. Allow them to air dry completely before reinserting them into the helmet. Ensure they are fully dry to prevent mildew.
5.4 Storage
Store your helmet in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Use a helmet bag to protect it from dust and scratches.
6. Troubleshooting
6.1 Visor Fogging
If your visor fogs up, ensure the Pinlock 120 insert is properly installed. You can also slightly open the visor to allow more airflow, or utilize the helmet's ventilation system. Ensure the Pinlock seal is intact and clean.
6.2 Uncomfortable Fit
If the helmet feels too tight or loose, double-check your size. The SportModular helmet features a reversible crown pad which can slightly alter the feel; ensure you are using the side that best suits your comfort and climate needs. If discomfort persists, consult with a helmet fitting specialist.
6.3 Chin Guard Not Latching Securely
Ensure no debris is obstructing the latching mechanism. Firmly push the chin guard down until you hear a distinct click. If it still does not latch, inspect the mechanism for damage. Do not ride with an unlatched chin guard.
