Package Contents

Please ensure all items are present in the package before proceeding with setup:

Setup

1. Charging the Speaker

Before first use, fully charge your Skullcandy Terrain XL speaker. A full charge provides up to 18 hours of playback time.

  1. Connect the included 3ft C-to-A charging cable to the USB-C port on the speaker.
  2. Connect the USB-A end of the cable to a compatible USB power adapter (not included) or a computer USB port.
  3. The LED indicator lights will show charging status. They will typically turn off or change color when fully charged.

2. Powering On/Off

  • To Power On: Press and hold the Power button (usually indicated by a circle icon) located on the speaker's control panel until you hear an audible prompt or see the LED indicators light up.
  • To Power Off: Press and hold the Power button again until you hear an audible prompt or the LED indicators turn off.

3. Bluetooth Pairing

Pair your speaker with a Bluetooth-enabled device to stream audio wirelessly.

  1. Ensure the speaker is powered on and in pairing mode. The Bluetooth indicator light (often a blinking blue light) will confirm it's ready to pair.
  2. On your device (smartphone, tablet, computer), navigate to the Bluetooth settings.
  3. Search for available devices. The Skullcandy Terrain XL should appear in the list.
  4. Select "Skullcandy Terrain XL" to connect. Once connected, the Bluetooth indicator light will typically become solid.

4. Skullcandy Multi-Link™

The Multi-Link feature allows you to connect up to 99 Skullcandy Terrain speakers for a larger, synchronized audio experience.

  1. Ensure all speakers you wish to link are powered on and within range of each other.
  2. Connect your primary device to one Skullcandy Terrain XL speaker via Bluetooth (as described in step 3). This will be your primary speaker.
  3. On the primary speaker, press the Multi-Link button (often indicated by a chain-link icon). The speaker will enter Multi-Link pairing mode.
  4. On each additional Skullcandy Terrain speaker, press the Multi-Link button. They will automatically search for and connect to the primary speaker.
  5. Once connected, all linked speakers will play audio simultaneously.

Operating the Speaker

Basic Controls

The Skullcandy Terrain XL features intuitive controls for managing your audio playback:

  • Play/Pause: Press the Play/Pause button (often a triangle or circle icon) once to play or pause audio.
  • Volume Up: Press the '+' button to increase volume.
  • Volume Down: Press the '-' button to decrease volume.
  • Next Track: Double-press the Play/Pause button (or specific skip button if available).
  • Previous Track: Triple-press the Play/Pause button (or specific skip button if available).
  • Switch Audio Source (Dual Device Connectivity): If connected to two devices, press the Bluetooth button once to switch between the active audio source.

Waterproof Usage (IPX7)

The Terrain XL is designed to be highly water-resistant. It can be submerged in water up to 1 meter (3 feet) for up to 30 minutes. Ensure the charging port cover is securely closed before exposing the speaker to water.

Maintenance

Proper care will extend the life of your Skullcandy Terrain XL speaker.

Cleaning

  • Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe down the speaker's exterior.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals.
  • Ensure the charging port is dry before charging after water exposure.

Storage

  • Store the speaker in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • If storing for an extended period, charge the battery periodically to maintain its health.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Skullcandy Terrain XL speaker, try the following solutions:

Speaker does not power on.Ensure the battery is charged. Connect the speaker to a power source using the provided charging cable.
Cannot pair via Bluetooth.
  • Ensure the speaker is in pairing mode (blinking Bluetooth LED).
  • Turn off and on Bluetooth on your device.
  • Move the speaker closer to your device.
  • Forget the speaker from your device's Bluetooth list and try pairing again.
No sound or low volume.
  • Increase the volume on both the speaker and your connected device.
  • Ensure the speaker is properly connected via Bluetooth.
  • Check if the audio source is playing.
Multi-Link not working.
  • Ensure all speakers are Skullcandy Terrain models.
  • Make sure all speakers are powered on and within range.
  • Re-initiate Multi-Link pairing from the primary speaker.
