2. Setup and Activation

2.1. What's in the Box?

2.2. Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge your device. Connect the charging cord to the charging block and plug it into a standard wall outlet. Place the pendant into the charging cradle, ensuring the charging points align. A full charge typically takes 3-4 hours and provides 3-6 days of battery life.

2.3. Activation Process

To activate emergency monitoring, a subscription is required. Contact Smart Med Alert customer service to set up your device and activate the monitoring service for a monthly fee. This step is crucial for the device's emergency response features to function.

3. Operating Your Device

3.1. Power On/Off

• Power On: Press and hold the power button for more than 5 seconds to turn on the device.
• Power Off: Press the reset button on the side of the device to turn off the device.

3.2. Emergency SOS Button

In case of an emergency, press and hold the SOS button on the device for 3 seconds. This will trigger an emergency call and connect you to a trained operator. The operator will assess the situation and dispatch appropriate help.

3.3. Two-Way Communication

The device features a built-in speaker and microphone, allowing for real-time, two-way communication with emergency operators. Spanish-speaking operators are available upon request.

3.4. Fall Detection

The medical alert necklace is equipped with fall detection technology that automatically senses falls and sends alerts, even if the wearer is unable to press the button. Fall sensitivity can be customized by contacting customer support.

3.5. GPS Tracking

The device provides accurate location tracking using GPS, AGPS, Wi-Fi, LBS, and Geo-Fence technology. This ensures that responders and caregivers can quickly locate the wearer in an emergency.

3.6. Voice Key

Press the voice key button twice, and the device will audibly announce the current time.
